I like the way that you say “measly 7psi ... 400whp+“

This is really fun to watch this development.

You know...there are a lot of 2.7s out there and EVERY ONE of them needs more power. Any plans for 2.7 development?

For those of you that wheel your rigs, not hoon through the desert, actually wheel as in crawling...

you do realize that a twin turbo setup is completely useless, right?

Man I'm just hoping for more power so it holds gears better and I'm not cruising at 3500 rpm all the time in 4th gear. :(

So if @OVTune is making his own catless Y-pipe to connect to the factory exhaust then I suppose that means that the URD Spec-U will be useless? Could there be an option to connect to the Spec-U at the Y-pipe or could the turbo kit be sold with just downpipes for a custom fit exhaust?

^ this has already been done in Tubo BS thread, however a turbo tune from OVTune would be tits

Wouldn't a waste gate negate the issues of pressure build up at low RPMs? Genuine question as I have never owned a turboed vehicle.

Wastegates open at a specific boost level to control the amount of boost that the engine sees. They “waste” exhaust gases instead of allowing them to pass through the turbine.

The turbo kit is designed for anyone who wants a solution for missing torque.
This is not a fast and furious, supra, look at me I'm a skyline now type of kit.
A lot of choices were made during that process to give the truck what it needs without making sacrifices, and the main goal was to ensure it helps off-roading, not hinders it.

That's why any low mounted pipe is solid silicone (even though none are really low), the intakes sit near OEM intake height so it will not suck in any water, the intercooler is very large and very efficient so heat soak isn't an issue.

during very low speed, 4Low applications I do not see boost or the turbos becoming an issue. Throttle is severely restricted during these modes. And I'm working on a back up system for that. Of course we intend to test every possible scenario.

Will the kit work with aftermarket bumpers?

Why? Even with 5.29s and 37s it drives fine on the highway. Even my bias plys are rated for 65mph...

True trail rigs are practically buggies and are unlicensed requiring OHV stickers.

Most are aware that a turbo won’t help off-roading in low range. That’s why there is a taco box. However many of us daily our trucks and some of us are at high altitude, was just in Leadville at over 10k, who can benefit in other ways from a turbo.

if aftermarket bumpers is an "I don't know yet" what are the chances of it being compatible with a snorkel?

Seems like "small thinking" to me - one thing MUST exclude another.

In this case, I don't see how a turbo, implemented as Mat describes, interferes with off-road; even "real crawling". I can see this turbo in a vehicle with a Marlin crawler. Check it out....down and up.

All at idle......turbo not an issue.

Will the truck even start without the speedo, radio, etc? Most late model vehicles that run a CAN-BUS system like the tacoma will not.
