If you went stock tires and 4.88s you are going “full retard”. Don’t believe the shill videos from Nitro, who would like to sell everyone gears. I have 4.88s on 275/70/17 (just over 32”) and the truck is arguably, marginally over-geared.

Ive had these gears a couple months now and have a pretty good opinion of what they are like on 32’s. You’d be out of your mind to run 4.88’s stock, no matter what the salesman says.

I'm running 4.88 on stock tires. It's nearly perfect. I get about 1 mpg less than stock gearing. That is 80% hwy at 75 mph. I would guess 4.56 would be perfect on stock tires with an auto. The stock manual transmissions turn higher rpm than I do with 4.88

You and I are clearly in disagreeable. IMHO, the downshift to 1st, and the upshift to 2nd, is pretty aggressive with smaller tires.

I haven't noticed that being a problem. Do you have the newest tsb? I ran mine with stock ecm at first and now kdmax tune but both ways I didn't run into a downshift issue. I drove a friend's 2016 with 33"s and 4.88 that did seem to drive like you describe. That's why I'm wondering about the ecm update.
