Smoother and more consistent deceleration. Not sure if it’s the engine braking or transmission downshifting but when coming to a stop, most times there is a surge that feels like the brakes were suddenly pressed harder. I find myself anticipating it all the time and letting up off the brake pedal slightly, but it’s neebrr consistent.

    I vote no engine braking.

Also much faster shifting, both up and down.

I bought the tune for driveability enhancements primarily and definitely appreciate extra power but I also plan to get 200-300k miles out of the engine/tranny so I’m not looking to push it to its limits necessarily. For me the power increases on 1.01b felt sufficient if only perhaps the surge at 3k could be a little smoother in the power band - still I realize power down low can be tricky with reliability...

    Wants:
Smoother shifting (1.02c was pretty smooth for a few miles but even aside from the shift learning the actual shifts themselves became harsher long before the learning kicked in)
Smooth acceleration - strong and linear throttle without being jumpy as I felt with 1.02c-A.
Predictability - shifting is still an issue as is known and no doubt you will be able to address but I personally also noticed changes over time in the intake/exhaust mods and the smoothness subsided on 1.02c
Multiple tune options - for example I think it was great you offered 3 shift maps in the prior release as you recognize folks want different things and their mod situation also impacts this.
    -Oversized wheels tires
    -bone stock
-throttle / timing enhancements (perhaps a refined version of 1.01b w/o shift / VVT mods) for those who want improvements without deviating drastically from stock for reliability purposes
-further reduce misfires that are believed to be caused by the lazy ignition logic
-towing option for more torque / 2lo has also been requested by others
-love the suggestion and I’m sure is nearly impossible but if you found a way that S mode could be used as the input for the learning that would be a life changer. Let us teach it. -Yes we can probably drive it like we stole it but for those who live in metros that ain’t possible all the time and having the truck learn that I want to putter along at 35mph on the freeway under light throttle makes normal driving frustrating...
-S-mode shift points to be speed dependent similar to what I hear about the ShiftSense pro that’s just using the S gear limiter to shift at certain speeds - prevent 6th at 30mph as I’m not sure you’ll ever be able to fully do that in D
-not urgent for me but I am VERY interested in what your thoughts are on crawl and MTS :). Plus that sounds like some mad fun to “test”.

and ultimately pair with the datalogger soon so we can take the tune you’ve exhaustively tested on your mule, do a test run and send back the data for any necessary fine tuning for our specific trucks so we all have it dialed. Consistency was not a strong suit of 16/17 models as we see in the forums everyday so at a certain point I feel this will be necessary once we get past the one size fits all approach that is progressing the tunes thus far.

I trust you to continue to impress your customer base, and in doing so there will be hundreds more (minimum) behind us early adopters to fuel your growth and future R&D.

Edit: and I for one don’t want to do away with engine braking living in the city, I do appreciate not having to ride my brakes in traffic that much... but again different wants / tastes. It could be smoother at times though I suppose

You should of left 1.02C (A) in longer. All of the low speed jumpiness went away at about 1K miles and so did the occasional hard delayed shift that would hit hard sometimes, gone.

Sorry disagree need more engine braking this truck doesn't engine brake worth a dam. The harsh down shifting people have complained about I have never had. Not sure what is going on with that, I cant hardly tell when the truck down shifts.

@OVTune future development request. Is there anything you can do to help those of us who have remote start (with push button start)? Currently, if you start the truck with the remote, the truck will shut off when you open the door. Could it be changed so that if the truck recognizes you have the key when the door is opened it will not shut off and if you don’t have the key it will shut off? This has been discussed on this forum and no work around has been discovered.

1.02B resolved the slowing to a stop harsh downshifts for me, they were back in 1.02C (A & C) though.

Impossible. This has been discussed in other threads. Even lexus models shut off when door is opened.

I've seen this as well but what do other manufactures do that allows the
vehicle to stay running when the door is opened?

Impossible with stock setup yea, that's been established. What about with access to the ECU though?

There keyless entry module is different, not sure OVtune can program that module. As other have said it would be a breakthrough for all Toyota keyless vehicles if it could be done. My last ford did the same thing I don't find it to be a big deal.

that's what I figured, true no big deal but it would be nice if it could be done via the
    ecu.

both co-workers, 1 has a '16 Ram the other a '15 Explorer and both stay running.

It would be cool if you could program in a ABS on - off mode, for off road use only. Maybe link it to a common switch in almost all the trucks, like the ac or fresh air/recycle air switch with a five second hold down on the button. Similar to how traction and vcs button works.

I don't have my dongle yet (order 2139 from first batch in Nov), so it probably isn't really fair for me to give my opinion. But...

1st, an intelligent way to try and provide for all the people with contradictory requests without making like 2^n different files that we have to choose from. No, I don't know any way around this, and I LOVE that all the different options (such as 87, 91 octane, S mode lock) are being examined, but I would think that might get too insane for us and you pretty quick, just with all the options you are already looking at.

2nd. I will just give my laundry list of cool options that may be unfeasible or stupid. 2wd anytime diff lock (for us 4wd folks). 2wd low. No engine shutoff on remote start when opening door.

Anything to slow down when the abs/ traction control kicks in? Or is that a different computer?

@OVTune Would you be able to add a 4th shift option?
Option D- Gears 2-6 upshift controls adjusted (similar to Option A). Gear upshift 1-2 stock.

I've posted this before, loved the shift logic of option A, but 1st gear felt too aggressive, and too eager to down shift to 1st gear while making slow turns. This is on completely stock truck (no oversized tires).

I am currently using Option C, but don't like gear 5-6 stock upshift logic. Too eager shifting to 6th.

@OVTune This has probably been asked before and I missed it, but if MPG were out of the equation are there any gains to be made in regards to low end torque?

In the future I would like to see a tune for MPG and a separate tune with only performance (low end torque mainly) in mind.

What he said! I have been using the Shift sense pro for months now and the upshifts with that are nearly ideal. (I did order a second chip which raised the 4-5 to 57mph and the 5-6 to 72mph) the maker of that product LEFT THE STOCK 1-2 shift point alone) He felt that was ideal for a stock truck. I agree. And since 5th is and overdrive and 6th is a "double" over drive 72mph is ideal. He did raise the 2-3 and 3-4 as needed and the throttle position is actually relavant in the shift points. I think the trans programming is just as important as the engine mapping. Thanks Max
