I’ve decided I’m going to sell my truck. I have my unused, uninstalled kit I’d like to sell. PM me if interested

Same issue for me... no tune yet. My dealership had my vehicle for 10 days and could not give me a good reason for what was happening. They basically said it's normal because the other trucks on the lot are doing the same thing. Hoping this tune can fix it.

With about 150 miles on the preproduction 1.03 tune, here are my thoughts so far.

Even smother acceleration than 1.02C (A) and I believe it is making more torque 1500-2500 RPM than before. I find myself speeding when I get on the freeway without even noticing it. Can not comment on the learning as of yet as I have not driven enough non freeway miles. The power is much more linear than before. I would say this is as big as an improvement as 1.02C was. I have 34" tires and lots of steel add-ons. I have not felt the lurchyness of 1st gear like 1.02C (A). I still don't get 6th and don't expect to with this truck configuration. Not sure it is holding 5th any better than before, again this is the tires. I do know that this with 4.88s that are in my future will rock.

Good to hear & thanks for the update. My kit is supposed to come today, don't expect 1.03 to be ready by time I download & upload, so any recommendations on what to load in a stock Taco would be appreciated.

good to hear we're having similar experiences, though I'm bone stock tires/wheels/suspension. totally agree that it feels more powerful in the 1500-2500 range such that it doesn't just feel like the truck doesn't come alive until 3500 rpms. There's still a lot of the horses waiting up there for sure but they come on more gradual and linear which makes for a more refined driving experience and I too have found myself driving more aggressively on the interstate w/o realizing it! For me the 1.03 has continued to be smoother with each drive and it already started out really smooth. Most drives I'm actually not even thinking about how the truck is driving b/c it's just doing what it is supposed to (and should have from Toyota, but I digress...)

Keep us updated as you get more miles on it! I've been locked down working w/o a lot of driving so far this week but looking forward to getting some drive time to/from the mountains this weekend!

Wow - so the 87 tune actually feels more powerful than the prior 91 tune?

Looks like its getting close to 2 weeks since you last updated this. How is it now? Same? Different? Better/worse? Most importantly, has it learned all its old bad habits?

Mine is still running well, though I have been driving exclusively in S mode lately... the shifting is definitely improved but the combo of 1.03test and S mode is pretty awesome. The VVT, throttle, ignition changes for me just make for a smoother driving exprience. He’s still working on gathering more shift data and logs to fine tune the torque learning stuff

I can't wait to run 1.03. So far my only complaint about 1.02A is the unrefined downshift to 1st going slow and that power kick in at 3.5k

Folks asking about how 1.03a test is going... On the highway today, driving in D I was going about 70mph holding 6th strong through slight hills, even passed a couple of people staying in 6th... came to a bigger hill at one point and went to pass while going slightly up at about 80mph and it unnoticeably dropped to 5th. In situations where it would always drop to 4th and sometimes even 3rd, it’s holding overdrive on the interstate better than it ever has.

How’s the downshifting when coming to a stop when the truck is cold or in really cold weather?
