Did you get the Rev1 transmission sw update from Toyota? I've never had a CC issue, both tune and pretune

I've noticed this too. Maybe it's because the trans is allowing the motor to rev higher before shifting now.

Changes in intake/exhaust valve timing alters the sound a bit.

Yes. I have noticed it as well and again I reflect back on the 4runner comment. The T4R has more of a roar than a whine. After the tune there is more of a defined sound (b/c of better smoother airflow intake/exhaust) where things aren't getting choked up as much

Yep, AFR is pretty consistent for me as well. A bit leaner in high load situations but still way under what we'd consider unsafe for reliability purposes.

All: I put 250 miles on 1:02C(A) 91 octane driving through multiple mountain passes...I'm currently running 4.88 gears and am pretty heavy with armor and a leer canopy. The truck performed great!! I seriously could not be happier with it's performance...OVT knocked it out of the park!! The tune itself is great and if you have the combo of gears to run in tandem you will be smiling from ear to ear each time you drive it!

I fit the bill for this. In my opinion its just barely worth the price tag. Doesn't address several of the things I had hoped it would (Dead fifth gear, worse MPGs compared to stock, still vibes) but I think part of it is my truck. I'm still on the fence with whether or not I'll keep running 1.02C Map A. I need to do a full review of 1.02C before I leave on vacation because my thoughts, while positive, are not nearly as glowing as many.

I also suspect that engine may be burning coolant so I don't want to attribute all my problems to the tune. Spark plugs are getting checked soon.

lo siento. I have a canopy with roof rack. I wouldn't rely on this tune to gain you much with 1400lbs on the bed. 4.88s would be the way to go first.

If this is a stupid question I apologize in advance. But what is the difference with the bench flash and the normal tune kit and how does it work? I understand with the tune kit you receive a usb dongle and flash your truck with a pc. The bench flash I'm not really too sure about.

Sounds like bench flash, you pull the ECU out and mail to him to flash and he will mail it back to you.

true, and this tune has opened up the sound a lot, and I'm still running the AT file. the sound isn't muted or swallowed up like stock.

no removing hardware. the software reads your ecu file, you email it to him and he modifies it. then he emails it back to you. that's your flash file.

So Mateo.... Any chance you're still under warranty???

That burning coolant sounds like something toyota owes you big on if you're still under 70k and I'm dying to hear some empirical data on whether they're checking for flashes.

But then, I'm guessing that's the kind of thing that kicks off 10 miles after the expiration, extended or not, amirite? My sympathies man
