    VFTuner isn't the real problem

Lets be real clear that I have run the OVTune, Magnuson SC Tune, and soon to be Yotawerx Tune and I have not had an issue with the tunes but rather with the way Mat rolled all this out. Licensing/Upgrading from the beginning was way more of a PITA than any other tune service I've ever used on any other vehicle and Mat added insult to injury when he changed the name but all the early adopters were left high and dry unless they pay more money.

I think anyone who bought in AFTER the initial OVTune debacle most likely didn't notice much but us early adopters felt seriously fuc#ed over.

I personally paid the $79 fee back in May 2020. It seemed unfair at the time, but it's so much easier now that VF tuner is looking for the serial number on the Orange dongle as @GoldenBrew mentioned. That update was minor compared to my drafting program @ $1,345 :frusty:

VF Tuner is OVtune. They changed the name. Just my opinion, but i believe the tacoma tunes / etc. helped him bankroll the VFTuner software that he is now putting out for multiple platforms, which is pretty awesome.

To all the haters - remember, that none of these custom tunes you love, would be possible without OVTune. Us early adopters basically bankrolled the development of the software able to tune 2005+ Toyota's.

Yep. Well said. He's a small business owner who is on fire and rockin' it. Mat's accomplishments are quite impressive. At times he's had growing pains but success is not easy.

I know my truck performs far better now due to the foundation put in place by VF Tuner.

He has definitely bailed on the Ultimate Tune that many of us were banking on coming out when we shelled out for the software and OG/2.0 tune. Shitty move to promise this and then seemingly totally abandon development.

I just got on the vftuner forum and there is no mention of this update. In fact it looks like all the 3rd gen Tacoma stuff was scrubbed recently? I must be missing something here, right? @tonered please straighten me out

Has anyone here been able to get in touch with VF tuner support recently? I paid for the ovtune upgrade 2 weeks ago. Multiple emails to their support to get my device registered and no response :-/
