I love my Owlcam despite having some issues with it over the past year. I really like being able to pull clips off it straight to my phone super easily. With the voice commands, I can literally save clips of wild shit I see without even taking my hands off the wheel, its rad. Also, I end up parking my truck in places where I've had it broken into before and it good to know I can keep an eye on things when it's not parked in my driveway. A few months back my truck was broken into with the owlcam running and a backpack was stolen out and the footage I had helped a lot with the police report and the insurance claim.

    ANYWAYS.

The camera mount that comes with the camera doesn't allow for many options besides mounting in the center of the dash and its really ugly and the suction cup doesn't work great. The camera doesnt have many good spots on it to connect a mount too. I decided to disassemble the stock magnetic ball/socket mount. From there I drilled and tapped the magnet. From there I threaded in an M6 Rammount ball, and then used an adjustable arm to swing the camera around to the front of the TPAM.

Wanted to post this up to maybe give some people thoughts on other options for this somewhat proprietary owlcam mounts.

    Many.
I’m going to do this. What’s stopping you from mounting it to the top?

Here’s what I came up with to save forward facing space.

I know this thread is a bit old, but could you give some details on how you mounted the ball connector to the Owl Cam? I've been trying to figure this out on my own for a while, and every option I come up with seems like it will end up being more destructive than constructive.

I disassembled (via destruction) the oem arm mount, took the magnets out of them, and then I believe I epoxied them to a ram connector of some sort.

Awesome! For some reason I was obsessed with the camera-side semi-ball. The oem arm opens up more options - AND if I break it beyond all hope I can easily replace it. Thanks!
