I was on youtube and the grand mucky-muck for Toyota truck sales in North America made a comment that the Tundra and Tacoma buyers were very distinct groups and not to be confused. Which is his reason why 4x4 Tundra could not be purchased with a factory LSD.

Every holiday I drive my parents around, and an aunt to family get-togethers. I wanted a whole lot of room for 4-5 adults in a 4WD. If you see the rear seat of a Tundra Crewmax it is limo sized.

When I went shopping for both Tacomas and Tundras I was told that dealers don't inventory loaded Tacos because if one is going to spend that much money on a Taco you may as buy a Tundra.

My dad died, I have one less seat to fill, I can now see down sizing and proudly owning a Taco. Did Toyota have a reformation and not tell me? Half the folks went Taco and the other half Tundra and we are not supposed to talk to each other?

Are Tundra and Tacoma owners really that distinct?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I don't see why they would be.

I got both. Like the Tacoma for every day use. Tundra for towing and trips.

I think it depends on what you want. Do you want a mid size or a full size?

    V8 or V6?

    10k towing or 6k towing?

It comes down to your use.

I could have bought a nice tundra for what I paid new.

    But.

I didn't want a full size or another big v8. So I bought a tacoma

Do you by any chance happen to overthink the stupid things that you hear people say? I wouldn't worry about the demographics comment. People buy what they want for their own reasons. Tacoma owners span from high school kids to millionaires.

Don't worry about it and whoooooo gives two shits.... or one shit for that matter. People buy what they want, what they like, and what they need.

I wouldn't buy a Tundra unless I needed it for towing. I like the tacoma because of its small size (among other things). I used to own a Dodge Ram and I hated how big it was.....Awesome for towing but not nice to drive around town and in tight places.
