Appears a mod might be necessary before use, like a sleeve to distribute the stress around that broken part.

 

wife and i had been pulling on them all day.

left it in the car during Texas 90 degree weather.

When we got back the latches were broken..

Maybe too much heat?

The stress of being latched, plus the heat from sitting in the back seat of the car in 90 degree weather. .. and they bust..

 

we were out and about in downtown san antonio, and when we got to the car we found the cooler with the latches popped

 

What is causing these coolers to stay open when the lid is down? Can you adjust the rear latches to make it lay flush befor the latch is in place?

 

I just want to know one thing, have these been tested in the Arizona desert?

 

I've got an interesting thought! I picked up a couple thermoco temperature data loggers from kickstarter. The plan is to put one on the inside of the lid of the cooler and track temps over a camping trip.

I stocked the cooler this morning with 12 cans at room temp.

It appears There is two long bolts for the rear hinge. So I'm gone say no?

 

That is correct. Two long bolts so no adjustment and it's the gasket that keeps the lids open until they're latched.
