Back on the topic of a vacuum leak. Looking at your breather on your valve cover, and that you say the pcv hose at the back of the valve cover is attached to the intake manifold, that means your engine still have a very large vacuum leak according to the MAF sensor.

    When compared to these pictures.

    Screenshot_2016-01-11-22-06-36.jpg

    Screenshot_2016-01-11-22-07-35.jpg

Your engine is sucking in unmetered air after the MAF sensor, through the filter on the valve cover.

Here's some diagrams that outline the PCV circuit. I used these for reference when I added a catch can. Maybe it'll help.

I am also looking for info on adding a catch can to a 2tr. I found these diagrams on TW somewhere...

    pcv%20location_zpscuy1bj9r_6af2172cb3085b66053f455ff37e19e1f1ff0e53.jpg

    pcv%20specifics_zpsyi6aivbd_c79ff1107deee1be7ea4e3038d31ebc24b9e3b9b.jpg

So in the second image it seems pretty clear that the PCV (or what Toyota calls the "Ventilation Valve") is located on the back left of the valve cover as you look at the front of the engine.

It follows from A through a rubber elbow, then through a metal pipe to B at another rubber elbow, then into the intake manifold. Pretty straight forward to add your can in the loop somewhere.

My main question is the small pipe with outlets labeled C and D. Are these hooked to the PCV circuit or are they independent? I'm guessing that C and D make a tiny closed loop unto themselves and are not connected in any way to the PCV circuit. Anyone know for sure?

That is a good question about "C"&"D". Take a look back there and snap a picture or two. It will be pretty clear where they are routed to.

You are correct about the catch can attachment. Anywhere in between "A"&"B".

@weldo , C & D are independant of the PCV hard line. Those are ports for coolant to circulate next to the pcv line, to aid in heating it up. Verified when I went to Toyota yesterday and checked out multiple diagrams.

Not to thread jack but it looks like this is a crank case vent leading into the air intake.

    Screenshot_2016-01-11-22-07-35.jpg

I didn't even notice this when I added my catch can into the PCV circuit. So if this vent is still blowing oily air into the intake, does that make the catch can kind of pointless? I know the can works, as it collects oil over time, but the point is to stop all the oily mist, not just some of it. Should I somehow plumb this over to the catch can with a T fitting or something? I don't think a breather will pass emission inspection around here.

Again I don't mean to thread jack, but I figure while we're on a similar topic...

That hose is the fresh air inlet into the valve cover. Where the circulation starts. The intake manifold sucks the air from there, into the valve cover, out of the valve cover, into itself, then onto engine.

Don't change or remove that. Unless upgrading with silicone.

For the turbo setup, it can be removed, but the inlet of the intake manifold would have to be capped. So as not to suck in unmetered air. Then both the inlet and outlet would need to be routed into the catch can.

Or the filter could be added to the outlet of the valve cover, and the inlet of the valve cover would then be routed to the inlet of the turbo. Right behind the filter. Effectively reversing the flow through the valve cover, and still sucking it into the engine.

I think I see what you mean, but wouldn't the air rushing past that hose serve to suck air out of the valvecover? Or is it perhaps that when the PCV opens, the air is drawn from the intake tube (before the throttle body) by the suction in the intake manifold runner (where the PCV is connected, after the throttle body)?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Maybe nothing to do with it but I wonder if a pcv check valve would make a difference; it definitely helps on the Buick GN. [IMG] Photo courtesy of Kirban Performance

No. Intake manifold, post throttle body, is the source of the suction.

Drill the upper oil pan, there is a flat spot behind the engine mount which worked perfect.

Highly recommend dropping the lower oil pan before doing this.

Yessir, or whatever fitting you decide to go with but the supplied 45 degree 1/2" npt to -10an works good.
