P-0446 Engine code

Hi all,

My 2000 tacoma prerunner has been recently diagnosed with check engine code P-0446. After researching this error code, it seems that there can be a multitude of reasons why the check engine was activated in the first place. I ran the code at the local autozone and it recommended to replace the "evaporative emissions (EVAP) Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV). I purchased the recommended part, an EGR vacuum solenoid, but I am having troubles with finding a video tutorial to DIY. Do you think I should replace the solenoid or replace the charcoal canister?

Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P0446 is a flow code
Usually Purge Selnoid
Possibly Vapor Pressure Switch
Is your charcoal cannister above fuel tank or under hood?
Replacing old vac lines with thick wall Silicone is good maintenance.
