    I'm using a Lincoln Power Mig 350MP

It's what we use in the shop to weld aluminum and stainless, but I have it configured for steel at the moment! Thing is great! If I had the money kicking around I would buy one of these in a heartbeat!

Shiiiiit, don't know if I can drop $4k on a welder.
What would you recommend for someone who is just looking to get into (preferably MIG) welding, doesn't need something REAL fancy-- would be mainly using it for steel such as bumpers/bed racks/random body welding

I've heard Miller is a reputable brand, also been suggested the Lincoln 140c...

Yeah... it's ridiculous, but it's a very industrial oriented machine...

I would recommend the millermatic 211. I've spent a decent amount of time welding with one and they are awesome! AND wont completely destroy your wallet ($1,100)...

    http://www.millerwelds.com/products/mig/product.php?model=M00245

and the 140 from lincoln is great, but you're always going to want to weld something a little thicker...

That's the welder this guy used to weld my sliders... looked very straight forward and awesome!

I spent a summer welding together giant pig (or anything really) smokers out of old propane tanks with a lot of *custom* embellishments. Ran it all day everyday for a few weeks without a single issue. It's super straight forward!

Sweet! Glad I could give my input!

Another great machine to have is one of the small ac/dc lincoln invertec tig machines for stainless, and thin metal or detail work.
