P0011, P0016, CEL, Traction control and running rough
2010 TRD Sport with 125k

That really sums it up.
Anyone else seen this?

If the below is true ( Timing Chain ) and you take it to the dealer it will be greater than 2000 $ if the timing chain has jumped a tooth. It could be the OCV ( Oil Control Valve ) that controls the VVT and or the filter associated with it. I would start there at the OCV and Filter.

This is what the Toyota service manual says:

P0011 - Camshaft A Over advanced - Problem areas:
• Valve timing
• Oil control valve (OCV)
• OCV filter
• Camshaft timing gear assembly
• ECM

P0016 - Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A):

• Mechanical system (Timing chain has jumped tooth or chain stretched).
• ECM

 

Thank you, my mechanic is concerned but it taking a very conservative approach. He has suggested the OCV valve first (being done today) and see what happens.

It's ironic that I have been talking about a commuter car, my wife has been a little apprehensive. But with the truck having 130k she has gone from red light to yellow.

 

Hi i'am new to the site , can you tell me the out come of your venture. I have a 2011 and the same code P0016 and both traction and engine light are on.
What did you do in the end?

P0011 is for bank 1 (passenger (RH) side).
