I keep getting this trouble code and it never results in a cel. I pulled the ocv's and pass side was 7.5ohm resistance and drivers was 8 ohm but that was at more than 68 degrees. What should I do? Oh I have an ultragauge hooked up and that's how I see the error.

Did you ever fix this. My ultra Gauge is showing it as a pending code but not a engine light

Sorry I didn't see this a lot sooner. Here's some info on the code:

    - Dirty Oil
    - Faulty variable valve timing (VVT)
    - Faulty oil control valve (OCV)
    - Variable Valve Timing (VVT) harness is open or shorted
    - Oil Control Valve (OCV) circuit is open or shorted
    - Damaged Engine Control Module (ECM)

If the engine oil is clean and the VVT and OCV circuits are OK, replaced the VVT to resolve the problem.

This is what a 2.7 oil pressure actuated VVT control looks like.

The 4.0 is similar if not identical. Toyota is notorious for using the same part for many different applications.

I broke mine while doing something stupid and needed to replace it. It takes just a 10 mm wrench and all of 10 minutes to install.
