Yea Toyota pinout descriptors can be confusing like that but they are quite simple once you figure them out.
The first bit is the circuit ID then the part in brackets is the connector number and pin number, so it goes like below:

Circuit ID (Connector ID - Pin Number)

So the the test your trying to do above is a short to ground test, you want your meter set to resistance, the ground of your meter to body or chassis ground, and the other probe of your meter to either end of the circuit so at the sensor connector end it would be connector A4 Pin 1 and at the PCM end it is E4 Pin 1. Same thing for the rest of the checks.

Hope that makes sense to you.

Here's the full pinout of the PCM and overall engine wiring diagram.

So when I'm performing this test am I supposed to have the wiring harness and sensor plugged up? All it says to disconnect is the ecm plug.

Connectors disconnected at both ends of the wire. Nothing plugged in. With the wire disconnected at both ends, the purpose is to make sure the wire isn't rubbing or touching any thing else like the frame or another circuit. Needs to be completely insulated end to end

Resistance checks are always performed on a disconnected/unloaded circuit. Voltage checks on the other hand would be performed with everything plugged in, powered up and running

Good deal thank you for that bro and just one more thing lol so were it says check for open or short .. (specified conditions) below 1 ohm does that specify a short or open circuit or is that what it's supposed to read when the circuit is good? The reason I ask is when I connect to E1 which is the red wire at either end I get nothing at all like it doesn't beep or anything like it normally does when checking resistance. Does that mean it's good or open or bad? Also I know a short is bad but what exactly does open mean? Good?

Less than 1 ohm is good, healthy circuit

Sounds like the red wire may be open circuit

Okay so if you look at that printout I posted that someone shared with me from Toyota it says lead connections- HA1A(A4-1)-HA1A (E4-1) so that makes me think that you connect the leads to both ends of the same circuit right because that's the red wire on both ends and that part doesn't mention a body ground connection anywhere only for checking shorted wires so that's what I did I ran an extension wire and connected it to the red wire at the harness under the truck and then connected the black lead to E4-1 and it's reading .5 so under 1ohm which is specified conditions so I guess that means it's good right?

Hahaha! Finally got the lean and stuck in lean position codes gone and everything seems to be checking out just fine now except it is throwing code p0037 now for low circuit bank 1 sensor 2 now so the 02 sensor is trying me up now but at least it's the cheap one if I have to replace it!
