So kinda long story short, got a Tacoma In October, had the CEL pulled and didn't know it had Problems, fixed a couple things but now has the P0171 code, I know it's an lean idle condition, so far I have changed the MAF, the fuel filter, all spark plugs, air box because it had a big hole in it, pcv valve, hose from charcoal canister to air box, fuel cap, pressure sensor, fuel pump, and my timing was off and I took the belt off and adjusted it, I've checked for vacuum leaks, and I can't seem to find anything. I have problems starting sometimes but it always starts, and I have a pretty low idle at times, maybe the injectors? I'm so out of ideas I don't know what to do, I was thinking the charcoal canister, or fuel pressure regulator may be at fault, that's in advance!!

I had the same problem with my truck up until a few days ago, a P0171 code that wouldn't go away. I cleaned my MAF sensor, replaced it, replaced the o2 sensor, spark plugs and wires, nothing worked. Eventually Toyota discovered a vacuum leak in my supercharger, there was a port that had become uncapped.

Are you supercharged? If so check your capped port(s) and lines going in and out. If not, I'm willing to bet you have a small vacuum leak somewhere that you maybe you can't detect by eye. Or a leak in your TB gasket. 9/10 (according to the tech that worked on my truck), if a P0171 code isn't resolved by cleaning your MAF sensor then it's due to a leak somewhere, possibly the exhaust. Bad fuel injector(s) can also cause the code I believe.

Worst case scenario a bad catalytic converter.

Just noticed in your OP you said your airbox had a hole in it that you fixed, did that not resolve the code? Have you tried resetting the code (disconnect your battery) to see if it comes back on or not?

FYI, if you reset the code by disconnecting the battery, it can take several hours of driving before the ECU picks up the code again. Believe me, I know lol

I did disconnect the battery, after everything that I fixed it disconnected the battery, and still the code is on, a couple days ago I changed the charcoal canister, and noticed some hoses were not even plugged in right and the switches were backwards, changed that and still same P0171 code, I think I'm gonna change the O2 sensor.

Also I think it may be a leak, I don't think it is anything else.
