Well I'm new to the Tacoma world but not to working on things. I just bought this truck a little over a month ago 2004 double cab 3.4 s/c with trd 7th. I was out today and its was running good i stopped and filled up with 93 and about 10 minutes after i filled up the truck started stumbling and had a knocking noise in the upper rpms. The engine light came on and my Ultra gauge read p0325, i tried reseting the computer and erasing the code with no luck. I started researching about the harness going bad most of the time. Can anyone give me any insight on this I'm really bummed out in my Tacoma, its the first vehicle to leave me stranded in awhile.

Ive been reading a little and it pretty much sounded like it was in fault mode and read it will cause a knock,is this true? It runs fine when revving up a little or idling.

I found the harness i need, I'm gonna call to see if any of the dealers have it in the morning. Anything else i should do while the supercharger is off? Im thinking about doing the plugs since it has 140k on it, should i do the thermostat?

Called the dealer today and ordered the harness and intake manifold gasket. Gonna start tearing into it tomorrow.

You must mean intake manifold gasket. There is a coolant by-pass tube/pipe that gets pin holes and can eventually leak at the flange. Might want to change it. Maybe even the sensors too.

Just called Toyota and ordered gaskets for the intake manifold and got a price on a bypass tube incase mine is rusty. Im gonna hold off on the sensors because of cost and hoping the harness will cure it. If not ill order 2 new sensors. What about valve covers i was thinking about doing them while I'm right there.

Valve cover gasket change is a good idea. Be careful torquing them back down, the aluminum covers crack easily, especially the corners. Maybe take some degreaser to them, clean them up nice. If you check around on the internet, a lot of folks just change the by-pass tube since you're in there, seems to leak at where the 2 bolts hold down the flange on the forward end of the tube. You may find yourself taking the whole thing apart again next month. Thought I saw the sensors on ebay for $20-$30 for 2 new (not OEM though). New OEM $34.99 ea.

Yea i was thinking about painting the valve covers up they are corroded pretty bad. Im gonna do the bypass tube while its part along with the valve cover gaskets. Was thinking about doing the wires to and the coils soon since there not to bad to get to.

So I've got it all stripped down and found my bypass tube looks almost brand new so that will save me 65$. No I'm in debate if I'm going through all this work if I should just man up and buy the sensors. Id hate to go through all of this again.
