P0420 and P0430

How much for the CATS then. Im assuming it is because its unlikely they went at the same time and it threw the codes when i had the misfire

 

I’ll shoot a PM tonight. I got company right now. However, make sure you confirm with them to weld them on first. Just make sure they understand you will bring in a set of OEM cats to be welded onto your mufflers and get their cost. I think the 300 they quoted you may have been to simply bolt up another set of complete manifolds.

 

Okay will do, its a muffler shop so i think the 150 was for welding or bolt up

 

I had the p0420 code. It turned out to be the gasket connecting the cat to the Y pipe on the passenger side. Check all the joints for soot. That's how I found mine.

 

What he said!! I had p0430 and turned out it was exhaust leak at gasket, replaced a few months ago, no more code!

 

You can also use soapy water on a cold start up to check for leaks at those gaskets. It helps if someone else starts it since the soapy water won’t last long.

 

Been busy at work but ill do that tomorrow. Just worried about the misfire i had and the codes popping up right after that happened.
