There are several issues that seem to be related. Check Engine light is lit, P0500 code.
    1. The cruise control light does come on when I turn it on but does not actually engage.
    2. The illumination on the temp/gas gauge side is off.
    3. The gas gauge is not functioning properly. It does not show the actual fuel level and stops at about 3/4 no matter the amount of gas that I have.

All the other cluster functions are operating normally, speedo, odometer, tac & temp gauge are fine.

I wanted to research the location of the Speed sensor. Does anyone have a diagram for my vehicle? 2005 Tacoma, 2.7L Auto Access model.

Any ideas of the cause for the issues?
    Thanks

There is no vehicle speed sensor on automatic models, the vehicle speed comes from the ABS module to the Combination Meter (instrument cluster) and the cluster relays it to all the other modules that need it.
If your speedometer works all the time but your getting a P0500 then most likely the Meter has failed internally.

See the post below for more info on the P0500.

    Thank you.
Then would it be advisable to send the cluster to get repaired?

That would probably be the best option if you can find a good place that fixes them, new ones are discontinued.

Make sure you note all the issues it has if you send it off.
