I have a 2005 Tacoma 4WD with 138000K that throws a P0500 code periodically. Speedo OK and trans shifting fine, just have the annoying light about every 30-40 mile or so. It also goes off by itself without clearing codes. I bought the truck 4 months ago and the dealer put new tires on it (30 inch) so I thought tire size could be an issue but I drove it 180 miles home and for 2 weeks following with no issues. Any ideas?

I plugged it into a Solus Ultra and got a few more codes C0210 C0215 for rear speed sensors. Tested them and they came back good, but they had a thick coating of paste-like oil on them. Hopefully cleaning that off fixes it :notsure:

Cool, it's always nice when you find something suspicious...
