I was experiencing some weird electrical issues. ABS light would turn on if i turned on my headlights or right signals. The code was P0724 (high voltage to one of the tail lights)

Other symptoms were, when I pushed my brakes the dash lights would light up, I lost my brake lights (two fuses blown), lost my signals or all the signals would turn on (one dimmer than the other), the engine would rev a bit higher when I turned lights or signals on, cruise control would not work, and the cruise control light would flash on and off... Lots of strange symptoms.

I tracked it down to the trailer wiring harness, which was poorly installed and backfeeding the electrical system. There was some green rot on one of the wires and also a poor ground. The universal control box on the harness was also likely damaged.

Replacing the trailer wiring harness with a standard, universal trailer wiring harness from U-Haul (cost less than $20) fixed the problem. Not only have all the symptoms disappeared but the ABS light is gone too.

This time the control box for the harness is tucked away inside the tail light casing to make sure it is fully protected. Also, the wiring is secured properly with zip ties to the frame so this can't happen again.

If you are getting code P0724 or strange electrical symptoms, check your trailer wiring harness, and for the low cost, replace it to rule it out.

    Hope this helped.
