    Hey guys,

Was driving last night and hit a rut on the highway, kicked my Tacoma from fifth to fourth gear and spat out an engine code for a solenoid electrical problem. Haven't been able to shift my truck into fifth gear since, everything else seems to be working fine. I checked both the transmission wire and harness/connector but no luck. Does anyone know how to check the shift solenoid valve SL1? I've researched diagrams but haven't had any luck, and am hoping I don't need to drop the pan to better inspect it. Not to keen on dropping it off at a transmission shop :(

Bump.. I've for a 2011 TRD Sport. I've got the same code after some heavy wheelin' in 4-low with chains on for an extended period of time. I've also got a P0986 code for the Shift solenoid SR circuit or valve. I've printed a bunch of infor off prodemand.com at work. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this stuff. Thanks!
