    **Update**
    - Just like all the other posts I have seen. It’s getting a cylinder head, the P11EC is presumably a burnt valve not sealing on Cylinder 1, I suspect it’s been happening since before I got the truck, initially the code would stay off for 700-1k miles before returning. Note : if I had a cold air intake on, when I took it in, Toyota would have declined it, as was the result for the truck before mine, in line for diag.

My question; has anyone seen any other mods/issues that have caused this DTC other than an issue with the valvetrain? I have a aftermarket catback exhaust, custom done by a local shop, I have read most/all of the threads regarding this code, I have only seen one that involves a cylinder head job (valve or valve spring) on a 19+ model. I bought my SR5 4wd with 29k miles on it, I have never noticed any changes in drivability in the 4k miles I have put on it, but I have gotten the P11EC code, that people are saying is a big deal, twice now. I cleared it about 800 miles ago and it came back. Has anyone had this code, and traced it to any other issue? Or is it always an engine tear down, with a valve issue. Thank you in advance. I work at an independent repair shop, I try to avoid the dealership, having worked at many, if I can. Any insight is appreciated.

I would start small and swap the port injector to another cylinder, then the direct injector. The imbalance code is a bastard. It’s typically cylinder head but it says to check fuel first.

Might be worth the time to do a cylinder pressure/leak down test if you can at your shop. Seems cylinder 6 is the culprit in some of these recent ones. For what it’s worth I’m in no way an expert on the subject. Just going by what I’ve seen on here.

Thank you, i May do that I have the code pulled on Alldata with my vin, and it mentions nothing large; exhausts leaks, etc, but Tacomaworld posts have made me believe I’m in for a new cylinder head, I think this particular version is A/F ratio cylinder 1. I am 2 days from taking a 4 hour drive for my first vacation from work in my whole life, I’ll be driving it down one way or the other, I just hope I don’t have to leave the taco on the roadside
