I have a 1998 toyota tacoma 3.4. While idling, the engine would shut off. No sputtering, just running then stops with no attempt to recover. By the next day, this started to happen while driving. Now, it won't start. The engine turns over, but won't maintain.

    I cleaned the throttle body.

I replaced the mass airflow sensor
(Air filter box was damaged in an accident before I bought the truck, so I replaced that. The new box required a different style mass airflow sensor which is why I didn't just clean the original).

I had a code p0446 and identified a leak in my charcoal canister which I sealed. However, after installing the canister and driving the truck quit and wouldn't start. I noticed I had forgotten to reconnect a hose. The hose is now reconnected, but the truck still won't start.

I see codes P1300, P0100, P0110. Kind of seems like it is not communicating with the mass airflow sensor. I cleaned the old one and plugged it in with the same results.

Where do I go from here?

While the plugs are the same they are wired different

Are you saying I might need to rewire the plug? I have the same problem when plugged into the old Mass airflow sensor.

Sounds like you have even more problems .You don`t say where you live by chance did your ECM get wet

You had damage to the Air Filter housing was there any damage to anything else ?/

The igniter sits right there on the inner fender

The PO1300 is the igniter Circuit malfunction which will shut the fuel off to keep from fueling a non running engine.

In English it means the ECM thinks the engine has no spark and is not running

Going from what you wrote you went to the newer style MAF rather then the big clunky one either way the plugs are the same but wired different .

Without sitting down and looking I don`t know if being wired wrong can hurt anything

Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
Check the wires going into the igniter (passanger wheel well next to the airbox), a bad connection will cause the P1300 code and your truck simply won't run.

The wiring harness is attached to the intake tube and can be damage when you pull the intake, ask me how I know.

The codes doesn't mean replace. They mean inspect and find which wire or part isn't working. Did you inspect the wires for the igniter yet? There was another thread recently where the P1300 ended up being a broken wire at the connector to the igniter

Was this issue ever resolved? I have a 1999 taco, 5 speed manual trans, 3.4 liter engine, 4x4, xtra cab with a factory kill switch. I left town for a few weeks and my battery was stolen, I didn’t notice until I went to start the truck and got nothing. Looked under the hood and where my old battery was, there was another battery not connected, and no t-bar holding it down. Assuming the battery that was left there was bad I went out and got a new one. Connected the battery and tried to start it and nothing. All the lights on the dash would not come on. The cabin light came on, front and rear lights came in and so did the lights on the door. I read some where that the Alt 80 fuse could be out so I checked all the fuses and the alt 80 fuse was out. Replaced that fuse and lights on dash came on, the only thing that didn’t come on is the radio. So now the truck cranks but does not start. An auto electric mechanic came out and said he checked all wires and everything had current going through so I’m stuck.
Hooked up the Obd 11 and it threw codes P1300, P0100, and P0110

If I remember correctly. When I was trying to figure it out. I checked everything! And everything was okay. But the one thing I didn't check was the Spark Plugs. All of them had build up.
Once I swapped them out the truck started right away

Guessing that this vandal messed with the airbox(opo side of battery)

maybe knocked/broke air intake tube loose causing P0100 as well as P0110
This air temperature sensor plugs into airbox

P1300 is your coil that is to the right of airbox

Post some pix of entire engine bay
Lots of members here might see the problem
