I finally called the not so local Toyota dealer to inquire about the procedure for the Customer Support ZHA. I'm getting a pending P2443 code with increased frequency and had my fingers crossed that I could proactively get this issue of impending P2440 & P2442 codes resolved before I get stuck in limp mode. Much to my surprise, they were incredibly nice, validated that I qualify for the program, made an appointment AND ordered the parts required to do the repair sight unseen. I asked if the pending code was sufficient and as long as I don't clear anything, they can get the information that they need. I was ready to go to war with them and thankfully they were incredibly accommodating. I'll find out Thursday......

For the sake of completeness, could you tell us what these error codes mean?

They all are secondary air injection codes. The SAI system is problematic (especially on 2012's) and very expensive to repair if you're not under warranty or the customer support program.

Wow! They were pleasant, no debate needed and the completed the replacement AND washed it in 1 1/2 hours. I'm a very happy camper.

All I had was a pending P2443 code.......

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
They were nice because they get paid anyway from Toyota, wait until you have to pay . . .

You're missing the point. One, they ordered the parts sight unseen and I never threw a code. It was only pending and they replaced without any issue. I think they were very accommodating and bent the rules a bit.....

All is good but I know you have never worked in a dealership, which is just fine. I'm just saying that they got their money from Toyota so why not be nice to the customer. then you will go back maybe and spend your money.

In my case, that strategy might work. I felt I was handled very well and professionally. Although I didn't meet Toyota's criteria as I understood it, I'm very appreciative as to how I was handled. I've had some poor experiences with other dealers and it was refreshing to be treated well and fairly.......

it's always refreshing to be treated well and fairly when at a dealer. As it happens so in frequently. Just be mindful of when it's your money your spending.

Good to hear that you were treated so well
As some have stated. It may be because Toyota is footing the bill. Or it may be because that dealership is a good one. I'll take it as a good experience with what is known, rather than taint it with what is speculation.
    Again, good to hear!!!!!

Your point was clear. I am glad you found courteous dealership and didn't have to enter the limp mode on an interstate to get the work done.

My bet is you get there, parts were never ordered, AND they need to verify that you qualify for the work when you get there.

They always tell people whatever on the phone. Wait till you get there for the experience you'd expect

Just got the code and called. Got confirmation I am covered but they won’t touch it until they scan the code themselves at a cost of 140 and an hour in the shop. Even though I have a picture of another scanner with the codes taken an hour earlier.. classic.
