My stock tires are in need of replacement they are 265/70R 16. Goodyears at 36k miles

I have the option to buy 4 slightly used Firestone LE (under 100 miles) from a 2018 tacoma but tire size is - P245/75R 16 on the stock tacoma aluminum rims. My original thought was to pull the new/used tires off the rims they are on and put them on my existing stock rims.

I notice the size difference but if rims are both 16 should be fine ? yes?

Also in my searches on TW and web it seems that its a minor difference in size and may need a speedo adjustment.

I would then get winter tires put on these used rims in the fall time. (and black them out with a rattle can while off the vehicle and tire less)

thanks in advance I did search!!!

    Yes same situation.

So the "used tires" are slightly smaller and narrower. I noticed that in my searches

Feels like it shouldn't change too much go a bit smaller - and a set of "new to me" rims with decent tires.

Regarding the tire sizes; this is almost exactly what I did. The highlighted size in the post above is incorrect; the factory size on my 17' DCSB OR was a Goodyear I think it was, 265/70-16, which Goodyear showed as 30.6" tall if I'm not mistaken. I changed to 245/75-16 Grabber AT2's on the factory wheels, General says those tires are 30.5" tall, so there was basically no change in tire height going from a 265/70-16 to a 245/75-16 tire.

Navin R... In your change to 245/75-16, was there any change in the way your truck steered?. My 265/70s seem to road steer excessively and take a lot of wheel motion to stay in my lane (compared to my '07 Highlander).

On my old Tacoma (1st gen), I had 245/75, 265/70, and 265/75. I didn't really feel much difference in steering. Looks wise, though, the 245's looked so whimpy. After about a year, I switched them out for 265/75/16's. MPG went down a bit (~2mpg) and slight loss in power. But that engine is far weaker than the current engine. When my stock tires wear out, I'll probably go for 265/75's again.

By the way, no difference in MPG between stock and 245/75's, either. In fact, 245's might have been slightly less.
