Searched here bit getting no results. My ultragauge is registering a P2610. I have searched TW as well as TW through google and came up with zip.

Google comes up with ECM issues for other vehicles but no Tacomas. Would it be ECM for my truck as well?

I just find it odd that this code has not been asked on here before. Thanks

that code is for the engine soak timer

engine shuts down, ecu starts a timer so it can judge how cool the engine gets, before the next restart. also when to kick in evap

that is specific to the ecu and internal to the ecu, possibly evap system

your ecu is junk, or bad connections to it, or otherwise
but it is all inside one box essentially....

I'd unhook battery and disconnect everything going to the
engine computers, then reconnect, and see how it goes

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
    - ECM Harness is open or shorted
    - ECM Circuit poor electrical connection
    - ECM outdated program

5 hours after the ignition switch is turned OFF, the soak timer activates the Engine Control Module (ECM) to begin the EVAP system monitor. While the engine is running, the ECM monitors the synchronization of the soak timer and the CPU clock. If these two are not synchronized, the ECM interprets this as a malfunction, illuminates the MIL and sets the Detected Trouble Code (DTC).

Thanks for the info. I will unhook the battery and go from there. Then a trip to the dealer if it comes back.

    Appreciate it.

It's still under warranty, I would take it to the dealer prior to reset so they can document it. I had the air pump failure issue. I reset it and it was fine just long enough for my warranty to run out then came back.

This exactly what I am doing. Let the dealer run their check and I expect them to reset it. At least it will be documented.

    Thanks all.

No remote starter. Bone stock, except for the anti dark hood light.

I did not. I brought it in and it was reset. I am at 45000 miles and have had no issues.

Did you ever trip a check engine light? Or was it just the UG?

Bringing back this thread as this problem just happend to me after I disconnected my battery. @Kbel so you took it to the dealership and they couldn't pull anything up? But they reset it? Does the trouble code still pop up on your ug? I'm looking for some advice on what to do. Thanks

Thanks for the speedy response I appreciate it but my truck has magic healing powers or something cause the trouble code has disappeared. Hopefully that's the end of that.

bringing this back from the dead again.......do you guys think this code could be thrown when you shut off your engine, then whoop, start it back up again? Didn't really give the truck time between shutting down and starting up to settle.

Not great for the engine, I know, but it happened.

Funny it doesn't throw this when the engine stalls and you start her right back up (not that I've ever stalled.......)

edit: my check engine light never came on, the little OBDII thing I have that's connected to my phone shot me a notification

Bring it back again. Just happened to mine with an UG in it for about 3/4 days. Threw the code in UG but not on truck dash. Will try disconnect battery etc .. did anyone have it come back ? Or just a one time thing ?

apparently the defect is in the ultragauge somehow, it is trigger happy
to report a problem where the toyota logger must handle these events better

I have a theory I’m going to test. Since the UG doesn’t shut down instantly. The Ecm think things are still on as such.

What “displays “ did you guys have ?

I have ECM volts as one. Wondering if that’s what’s causing it ... I saw somewhere you could “ hack “ the UG to shut it down earlier as u turn the key off

If it's not triggering the check engine light on the dash it's a pending code. Doesn't necessarily mean there's a hard fault yet, it's an intermittent fault. The ECU needs to see 2 consecutive faults to trip the check engine light. If the ECU doesn't see the intermittent fault again for like 30-40 cycles or something like that the pending code will clear on it's own.

It's not that the UG is sensitive to picking up pending codes. You might get pending codes often or not, you just never knew until you had the UG to see them.

Also with the UG, it can clear codes which also clears pending codes. No need to disconnect the battery or take it to the dealer to be reset.
