Anyone know where I can get the best deal on a set of 4? Looking for P rated 285/70/17.

I searched around this thread and everyone is paying around 500ish for a set shipped. Ebay I'm looking at $700ish.

Just placed an order for a set of P285/70/17 from tirebuyer on Ebay. Was $589 with free shipping, but tax added an extra $48. Going on a set of SCS Stealth 6's...

Looking at these as my next set of tires. Currently running Cooper A/Tw in 265/75/16. Funny how this model isn’t as popular as their A/T3 as I feel the A/Tw is a much better tire. Could be wrong but didn’t see anyone mention the A/Tw for comparison. I loved the Coop’s wet/snow traction when new. But much like many have reported here, they wore very quickly, then slowed. I did have some balance issues with them. I didn’t mark mileage or tread depth initially at install, only that I visibly noticed fast wear.
I attribute it to the tire’s heavily siped design.
So, I’ll take the wear of the Falken A/T3W for the price. The addition of a more aggressive look helps as well. And? If I get new tires in 2 years due to heavy wear? I’m Ok with that since I didn’t drop a grand to 1200.00 on them initially.
I’ll have to get a photo of my truck (with Dakine pad...best way to carry bikes ever, BTW) up on here with the current Coop Disco A/Tw tires on it. Not quite ready to pull the trigger yet. Going to squeeze a few more miles out of the current sneaks.
This (long) thread has been extremely helpful in already knowing where I’m heading for the next set. And I love seeing all of the pics!

I've got no experience with the falkens, however my wife has the Cooper atw's on her 5th gen T4R. They have been great tires so far. The falkens are a little more aggressive though not by a whole lot.

I'll agree they do wear a little quick. She has ~35k miles on them and well probably go another 10k before replacing. That's with rotations every 5k. On the other hand they have been great and are killer in the winter. They are probably the closest AT to a dedicated snow tire you can get, but are fine to run year round in an area like the Northeast. The amount of siping on them is crazy. Id bet good money the Cooper's would blow the falkens out of the water for winter use.

The falkens are literally the same as ko2s (which I'm running on my FJ). Look at them side by side, tread pattern is just about identical, qty sipes per tread block etc. The Cooper is definitely quieter than my ko2s. Falkens would likely be better off road, Cooper's better for mainly on road use imo.

    Cooper's:

    @Discount Tire Direct or @WILDPEAK,

Has the accelerated wear issue been resolved? Bad batch or isolated incidents? Still thinking of getting these but don't want to go through warranty hassle and cost of mounting/balance early.

I have not measured mine but they visually have very little wear. I don’t drive a ton but have put about 10k miles on since new.

I think a lot of the wear problem was based on the info of falkens site. It's says 14mm tread but I think most are 12-13 mm new.

    They’re here! 17/32nd’s on all 4.
Let’s see how easily they balance.

Current winter 10-ply is down to 6/32nd’s

    Edit:
    $520 all in:
    $460-tires + $60 mount & balance
The 10-ply are noticeably deeper tread than the SL. Compared the 2 side by side at the tire shop and the SL was 12-13/32nd’s.

They look good and are handling well in the snow so far.

    Thanks, thats a good sign.

Been through entire thread and I recall at least two members reported hitting the wear bars at around 20k miles and were given a full refund from Falken.
