What size are you guys ordering?

I priced my order through DTD and it was $800 for 33"s.

    275 75 16's. Not upgrading to 33" til i get a 17" rim so i can run 285 70 17's. The 285 75 16 is overkill in a E Rating!

I see, what is an E rating? Does that refer to sidewall? I'm unfamiliar with the meaning. 285/75R16 was the size I was looking at.

A "E" Rating is a 10 ply tire which is a bit of overkill for a Tacoma especially my 4 cylinder! My current 265 75 16 duratrac weighs in at 43 lbs and the 285 75 16 weighs in at like 60-61 lbs. so that's a huge step up in weight per tire!!!

I like my bronze trd wheels to much to upgrade to a 17" wheel now so ill just run a 265 75 16 tire for now and maybe a while down the road I'll eventually upgrade to a 17" wheel to accommodate a 33" 285 70 17 wild peak at3w tire which only weigh's in at like 48 lbs. So that's only like 4 lbs more than what I'm running now!

Oh I see. I'm currently 285/70r17 BFGs on the stock TRD sport rims (horrid backspacing). Not sure how much that combo weighs, but I was able to snag a set of the limited SCS Ray10 coppers in 16. I hope the 285/75r16 wildpeaks on the scs rims don't run more wight than what I have currently.

They should probably weigh in at pretty close to the same I'm thinking!

I got 265/75/R16 because it comes in a standard load tire. I'm shooting for not entirely destroying my gas mileage after I lift it and put a little bit more of an aggressive tire since my last truck was a lifted f150 w/35s and I got about 9-10mpg if I was lucky. I'm mounting them on a set of SCS SR8s as well and didn't really want to go to a 17 or a wider tire

    A 285 70 17 (33") comes in a Standard Load at 48 lbs. as well and only weigh's 4 lbs. more than the 265 75 16 (32") 44 lbs. standard load.

Ah good. I'm happy with my current gas mileage and size. I may adjust my gearing later but a lot later. I also have the 4.0 V6 so that helps. Thanks for all the info! I feels the smarts.:D

Ya I considered it but honestly what I really wanted was a 255. I really don't have a desire for the wider tires plus from what people are saying, these tires already are pretty beefy. The biggest thing thAt steered me away was with 285 I run the risk of having to trim or other further modification just for them to fit entirely. I'm definitely not against trimming or anything but figure if I have the ability to avoid it then I will

I guess at the end of the day my truck isn't going to be a wheeling beast but I need it to get me where I want to go with the kayaks

That's one thing i noticed when i switched over from 285/70/17 KM2's to 285/70/17 Falken A/TW3's. I had to do a little more plastic trimming.

    A lot
How tough are the SL options.

I am looking for a load range C (less heavy than my STMaxx's) but see these are only offered in E or SL.
