Mine still wont balance. and the wa wa wa wa wa wa wa sound down the highway has been present since new. I'm around 10k now. Still have tire shake, been to 3 different places and balanced like 5 times. But they look good

These tires have been great, I have about 15k on them and they have been outstanding. Initially, it took a couple tries to get them balanced. I had some slight vibration at around 60 mph. After going back in to have them re-balanced twice, they finally got it right. Maybe these tires are hard to balance, maybe the tech who did it wasn't all there, who knows. Either way, once they got balanced correctly they have been great. For the tread they offer in adverse conditions they are pretty quiet on the highway and ride smooth. I would definitely buy these tires again.

For those of you running the 10ply, what psi are y’all running? My shop has them aired up to 50psi and I haven’t had time to chalk them just yet.

50 psi is way too high. I run mine around 35.

Update: after an hour of chalking my tires I’m still confused. 35psi on the front and the chalk is wore clear across. I’m at 30psi on the rear and the outside lugs on both tires still aren’t making contact? I’m going to buy a new pressure gauge tomorrow and start back over at 40psi all the way around. :bananadead:

Picked up a set of P285/70-17s from DTD online in Feb, got my SCS Ray10s a month ago and finally got everything mounted, balanced and installed in the last week or so.

The Good - These replaced a set of Toyo RTs in the same size that I liked, but the wet/snow traction was poor. These are truly night and day different, I can actually accelerate w/o spinning in the rain again! I think the compound used on the P rated tire is excellent. They also look good, plenty aggressive for me.

The Bad - 50-60 mph shake, steering wheel shakes back and forth ~1/2". When I picked up the tires after they had been mounted I was a bit shocked how much weight it took to balance. One wheel might have 30 1/4 oz weights. The shop is very reputable and has done most of my family's tire work over the years w/o issue.

Not sure what my next option is, will play with air pressures a bit (running 33 F/28 R - empty bed), but based on looking at some of the issues here, I may just have a bad tire/set?

Bed of the truck is lighter than the front and will require less PSI

I wouldn’t think the difference between pressures would be that drastic?

I also had a couple issues with balancing. It took the shop a couple tries to get it right. I had a similar shake at around the same speeds. It did take quite a bit of weight but they finally got it right and the tires have been outstanding since then. Try having the shop re-balance them and see if that helps.

They are pretty heavy, but I haven’t noticed any loss of power since installing. I’ve gotta make a 200mile round trip in a few days and see how it effects my mpg.

Yeah does seem like a lot for this truck, if you don't haul anything or tow keep going to see when it evens out.

When I had my 2500hd the difference was over 10psi, but I never ran the rears that low incase I needed to haul something.

Does your shop use a road force balancer? If not, it's something to possibly look into.
