Really unfortunate to keep hearing about the premature wear issues. They've performed great on and off road thus far, but I'm kinda tempted to try the Cooper ST Maxx as my next tire.

Love mine. Quiet for the tread pattern. I haven't seen issues with mine.

These tires look good and the price is what makes them that much more attractive but if they aren’t lasting as long as they should I’d rather spend on some more expensive tires.

Agree. For me the price is the most attractive feature but not sure these are the tires I want based on balance issues and life. I am torn between these and Nitto Ridge Grappler at nearly twice the price.

Not good...Got the tires balanced/mounted today. Was infomed that the two of the tires were not took lota weight to balance (6 ounce of weight Vs 2 ounce for the fronts...). I may experience Shimmy, recommended to get replacement for the two rears. And that when rotating, the rears should not be put in front.
Not happy....I plan to contact Discount Tire Direct for replacement.

******* Update: Discount Tire CS and my local DT shop took care of me. They balanced it much better than the previous shop.
    Front: 2oz to 1.75
    Rear: 6oz to 4oz

+ The assistant mgr at Discount Tire recommended lug nuts that turned 7 tims Vs what I had which turned 5 turns. The Asst. Mgr hooked me up for free, would have happily paid just for showing me that these ones could possibly help minimize any vibration.
Finally showed me the marks/gouges on the inside of the wheels by the previous shop when they mounted/attempt to balance the tires yesterday.

    Thank you Discount Tire!

Just bought four 265/70/17 at discounttiredirect.com. Bought the road hazard warranty and am hoping that I have no problems with balancing and/or wear issues. I will be certain to rotate every 5K miles so as to not void the mileage warranty on the tires.

If you rotate tires yourself, is there anyway to prove that you rotated every 5k miles? Maybe make a video record of milage and rotation. Never needed the warranty but just thought I'd ask in case since I rotate my own.

As I typed earlier I thought of that exact problem. I have the Fuelly app that I will use to keep track of the maintenance I perform and I will take a picture of the rotation in progress so that I have a date stamp to show that I rotated them. Hopefully that would be enough.

I really think a lot of the balancing issues people are having is from idiot "techs" not knowing what they are doing.

Thank you for the shout out. Glad to hear the local Discount Tire Asst Manager took the time to make sure you were safe by offering you the correct lug kit. Sounds like they did an excellent job.
