Just washed my truck and was looking at the tires and thought that they look just a touch small, I might go with 265/75/16 next.

More sidewall gets you more squish to soak up bumps so the tire is doing work instead of just the suspension

I'll probably step up when the time comes. They aren't even 1/2 worn out yet. I've had 5100's for a year and a half and still haven't put them on. I want to lift, but I want to keep my 20 mpg as well :)

Got these mounted today. Can’t wait to see how they are at highway speeds and off-road.

@Discount Tire Direct hooked it up! They Jordan was able to beat a price match for me and since the tires came in late (had a road trip planned but the tires didn’t make it in time) Isi was able to send in the rebate they had for Memorial Day for me. Awesome customer service and price.

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
Given the price differential, and other positives such as road noise, traction, etc, between FWPs and other brands of AT tires we could still be getting a bargain, even if it turns out they don't last quite as long as other brands. I was able to get just over 57,000 miles out of the OME Rugged Trails. I was satisfied with that mileage but still wouldn't buy another set of RTs for other reasons. Seems like I saw where the FWP manufacturer has a 55,000 mile guarantee.

Dropped four tires and rims off at the local garage this morning with plans to pick them up this afternoon. The wife took a look at the tires, 265/70/17, and was a bit concerned about how much higher the truck would sit and if she would have trouble getting into it or not. And I still have to put on the TRD Pro suspension kit at some point. She says now it will be necessary to get a set of running boards to get into the truck. Sounds good to me.

Making the move back to the A/T from the M/T here next week. DEcided I dont wheel enough or hard enough to warrant the MT, plus I need 8 for my truck and trailer. Going back to the A/T saves me about 8 pounds a tire

Replaced the stock alloys running winter tires with 4Runner Trail wheels and 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks. Used a new Dewalt DCF-899 impact driver to make the jobgo quicker. The results:

Took it for a test drive. Slightly more road noise with the windows down. No vibrations up to 50 mph. Minimal rubbing on the front passenger side near full lock. Bending the small plastic shield in front of the tire took care of most of the rubbing. Getting the right clips to hold the mud flap back will take care of the rest of he rubbing.
