Depends on how you use your truck. Do you tow? Are there hills where you live? The taller tire will reduce your torque, but the taller tire does give you better bump absorption and slightly more clearance. I noticed I got worse mileage with the taller tire because the engine has to work harder/downshift more to get up to speed. This may not be a problem if you live in Nebraska, however.

I'm currently running 265/75-16s and will be dropping down to a 245/75-16 because I live at high elevation, we have lots of super fast, steep roads and I tow a fair bit. I do wish they made an E-Rated 265/70-16. I do not want to go to the passenger tire, because I do tow. Maybe I could. I've just always used E-rated tires. Anyway...

And IMHO, ballooney oversize tires look silly. I prefer the tall, square looking tires like on Paris/Dakar rally trucks.

Don't do any towing and i have the 2.7L 4-cyl in my truck. Definitely don't want E rated tires because of the extra weight. I like the looks of the 265/75R16 on the trucks ive seen on here but i guess my real question is .... IS THERE ANY ADVANTAGE AT ALL FOR ME TO RUN 265/75R16 OVER MY STOCK P245/75R16 ---- BESIDES LOOKS ?

    Advantages:
    Taller sidewall, more bump absorption
Taller tire gives slightly more ground clearance - The 265/75 is about 1.25" inches taller than the 245/75 - so about 3/4" of an inch more clearance
    Better in sand
    Looks cool

    Disadvantages:
Heavier - more work to get rolling
Higher Gearing - more work to get rolling/keep rolling
    Worse gas mileage
    More expensive
    Worse in snow

If I was you, and had the 4-banger, I would NOT go to a bigger tire. I would actually consider going to the 235/70, which will make the truck quicker and you'll get better mileage with the smaller/lighter tire.

    Gents,

I can confirm that the LT265/75R16 WILDPEAK AT3Ws rub very slightly at full steering lock on the lower control arms. Previously I mentioned they didn't rub, but I have noticed a small shiny spot on my lower control arm where they rub ever so slightly. I have the stock TRD OR wheels, no spacers.

Woah, now that's a lot of tire!
    How's the rubbing? Body chop?
What back spacing do those rims have?

    Thanks!

I didn't notice the slight lower control arm rubbing with no lift, same tires (LT265/75R16). That's not to say it didn't exist.

I just recently noticed the slight LCA rub with OME BP51 3ish lift and UCA's, same tires still (LT265/75R16). I just happened to have the window down at full lock in reverse when I heard a slight rubber on metal squeak/rubbing sound...

It's a non-issue, just wanted the thread to be informed.

Got out in the dirt for the first time. They handled everything they came across really well. Loose gravel, sand and some good sized rocks. 20160811_133804.jpg

Mine arrived today. Which PSI guide should I use for on-road use? The door jam sticker or sidewall?

Also, these are pretty beefy, thinking a road force balance might be necessary. Anybody having luck with standard balancing equipment?

I just had mine rebalanced with a road force this time and it was much better than a standard balance. Go road force

    It's a good lot. Lol
Rubbing is livable at the moment, I have a suspension rework in the near future. These rims have 4.00" back spacing, which seems to work well. No body mount chops yet.

I haven't installed these yet, but on my BFG KO's E-Rated, I was getting excessive center wear, so I did the chalk test and it turns out the door sticker psi was within 1 psi of my chalk test results.

What is the road noise like on these? I have BFG KO 2's now and they seem to hum like crazy, also not the best ride. I was looking for a smoother ,quieter all terrain tire.

Everything I've read says they are surprisingly quiet. I've read quieter with better street manners than the old KO's.

I have the 265/75R16 size and there is no noticable noise when on the freeway. They sound the same as my highway tires.

Had mine installed today. Not noisy. A bit more firm than the Toyo minivan tires that it came with, but not materially so. Drive way better on the road than my prior experiences with Duratracs and Terra Grapplers. Took them a bit off the road and they killed there too. Lost less than 1mpg over same driving conditions on the highway; but I also only got them in the OEM size 265/65R17 so I wasn't expecting the usual 2-3mpg loss of going a bit bigger.

Badass tire so far; will post more when I can test the wet traction and such.
