Had these put on my truck this past Thursday, 265/70R17, E Load. Got minor shaking in the steering between 50-75mph. Brought right back to tire shop, they rebalanced. Went back into highway yesterday, same thing, minor shake between 50-75mph in the steering wheel. Highest weights on them are 2.5oz on 1 tire, rest of them balanced at 1.5 or less.

Really want the 10 Ply due to work and offroad areas here in Maine but if these 10ply are going to have a shake to them, I can't take it. Currently sitting at 32psi. Slow/back road speeds, tires feel great, highway is horrible though, and where I'm a travel welder, ya, traveling state to state with shaking isn't an option. Any ideas?

 

I know this post is old but I cannot wait! I just ordered the same set of wheels and tires for my truck and it looks amazing! Only thing I was worried about was the rubbing but if it isn't that bad it can hold until I get a lift!

 

Traveling welder with a Tacoma? Lol. Anyway, I had a high ply duratrac. Same thing, never got rid of it. Closest was with road force balance and backing off lugs and re tightening them in star pattern to proper torque. Some also have luck with hub centric rings.

I did order these in 4 ply, I'll let you know if they're any better.

 

I don't have a rig, work mostly nuclear plants. if you have better luck with the 4ply, I'm going to swap over to the 6ply and see how my luck goes

I think you can sign up for alerts from them and they’ll notify you. Many on here also watch it like a hawk and post when they’re having a sales. @shakerhood may have some thoughts as well. I’m watching for the coupon now since my GTI needs tires. I expect one in the next week or so.

If you have to buy tires immediately then you won't be able to get the coupon, but if you don't mind waiting, EBay seems to run those about once a month or so.

I’m swapping out my 265/75R16 Falkens for a set of 255/85R16 Cooper ST Maxx.

I had 45K on my tires with 6/32” remaining. They wore very well and were dependable in the snow and rain until last week. If Falken made a 255/85 I’d have bought them.
