What do you expect going to a heavier tire? Did you change size any?

No same size not LT either, I didn't expect to lose 3 mpg, I put 35'S on a titan I had and didn't lose any, and I looked at weights the falken was one of lightest A/T tires I could find in that size. The problem is the gearing and engine powerband(lack of low rpm torque). I don't live and work in a flat area we have hills/mountains, and as much as it used to have to kick down on the interstate going up hills before it almost won't stay in 6th gear unless im going downhill. Granted I am setting my cruise on 80mph, same as I have done in every vehicle I've owned. Like I said I only bought the Tacoma due to gas mileage, and I was averaging 20mpg before. But with my discount(Toyota employee) I won't lose money at all trading and could have gotten a tundra for only 3k more when I bought the Tacoma. I am going to see if after some miles on it and non winter gas it picks back up on mpg but if it's gonna stay at 17 or get worse im going to go back to the Tundra probably a 2020.

I just had these installed last wednesday in a 275/70/17 load range C. Discount Tire and other secondary distributors should have them in stock ready to install.

Just had these bad boys installed with a mne set of wheels this past wednesday!!
Got them in a 275/70/17 Load Range C. Unfortunately I had some issues with Discount Tire that I wasn't very happy with. Multiple times I was told the specific size I was looking for wasn't in stock and no ETA from manufacturer. Then, I see them online and in stock on DT's website. So I send in a price-match form online and get an email response that they are actually not in stock and still no ETA from manufacturer. So I ordered through Tire Buyer. 4 days later when I'm getting them installed at my local DT, I'm told they were actually in stock in Washington and could get to the store in a couple days. I wasn't very happy with the communication. Nonetheless, the DT team did a fantastic job taking care of me and mounting/installing the wheels with top notch customer service.

Tires: Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 275/70/17 load range C (these just recently became in stock nation wide). Only have like 50 miles on them but I really like how they ride so far. Don't have much of a comparison so can't give too much in the way of ride details or MPG drops.

Wheels: Fn FX Pro wheels in Matte Bronze. I think the white/bronze combo looks fantastic. And will look even better with a bit of mud smeared across the doors :D
These wheels are designed like the TRD Sema wheels but with a flat center cap, slightly different design, and are 8 inches wide (I believe) instead of 7.5. Dustin of FN wheels is the man to get into contact with. Very solid customer service from him. There's a thread for these wheels elsewhere on the site.

Lift: previous owner put it on but it looks to be a 2" block spacer lift front and rear. I'll be swapping on a full suspension kit next. I get a little bit of rubbing on the front so far but nothing major like UCA contact or rear cab mount. Haven't fully flexed the suspension yet though.

I've gone like 50mph in the desert with them in 245/75/16 in SL and they're great. I've only aired them down once when I was in the Sierra's but they were perfectly fine.

Interesting that folks complain about hydroplanning/snow performance even in the SL rated tires which are supposed to have the improved Silica compound to help with performance in those areas.

If there isn't much difference between Silica and LT compounds, I might as well go for the 255/80R17.

Costco installed mine for me even though I was technically over the 3%. (265 75r16.) They don't include balancing or anything with that, but apparently the discount tire replacement certificate (if you bought it) covers balancing.

Got some new shoes today on the stock SR5 rims. Wasn’t sure how it’d look with stocks but I’m loving these tires!

I have 285/55r20 Wild Peaks on our Suburban and love them.

I would take them any way of the week over the Goodyear Duratrac that came on my Tacoma.

Love mine. Had 285/75/16 at first but didn’t light the weight and the inability to keep up (without gearing and tuning). Had Discount Tire swap them for 265/75/16 and much happier. Not happy that they scratched up my VTX wheels when taking them off though. Had to buy a new set of SCS and love them even more.

Discount tire matched the TireBuyer deal and hooked me up with a mil discount too.

Make sure your installer is aware of the install markings! Yellow dot to valve stem. Most manufacturers don’t do this anymore! I pointed it out. Anyway, they balanced great without a roadforce.

    Edit 2:
If the tire comes with a yellow and red dot AND the wheel is properly marked by the manufacturer @ the point of “minimum radial run-out”, the red dot is placed there.

Otherwise the yellow dot is aligned with the valve stem.

Looks excellent! I was reading about red dots vs yellow dots and it looks like you're actually supposed to align the red dot with the valve stem when there's both. Did your installer comment on that at all?
