Thanks, I've seen those tire size calculators and they're definitely helpful. The reason I ask is that on the Falken website both the 265/70/17 SL and the 275/70/17 LT show an overall width of 10.8 inches. So it seems the 265/70/17 SL (which is what I current have) is wider than the typical tire of that size and the 275/70/17 may be a little smaller than typical in that size (KO2s and ST Maxx both list at 11.0 inches).

Was just curious if anyone had made this swap and could say if there was a noticeable difference in the look or not. The measurements would indicate a "no" on that but we all know things can look different in person.

Replaced the stock Hankook Dynapro HTs in 245/75/R16 with the Wildpeaks in 265/75/16 today. Maybe a loss of 1mpg, it was an hour on the highway to and from the shop and then to work tonight and I keep an eye on it. No noticeable road noise and handling on the highway is fine. I've had these tires before on a full size and loved them, but due to neglect they wore out prematurely. We'll see how these do now that I have learned my lesson about rotation.

Just put on a set of 265/65 R17 Wildpeaks and initial impressions are they are really nice. What pressure do y'all run yours at in this size?

I live in colorado and end up on rocky side roads every few weeks. Additionally I take the truck up skiing during the winter. Debating whether I should go with a dedicated winter tire or one that is acceptable at everything...falcon wildpeak.

What are the thoughts about the winter performance when compared to a dedicated winter tire?

Second big question, should I go with the standard load or e load rating? I have a topper, dobinsons 2 inch list and roof top tent so I am a bit concerned with the fuel economy hit. I do some light wheeling but not any true rock crawling.

Been pretty impressed with these tires so far, have about 17k on them however this is a tad concerning.

I had just swapped out a pair of Ko2’s for a set of wild peaks in a 285/75r17 and so far loved them much better then the Ko2’s

Once, a year ago, was only on about 3 lugs. Has gotten worse since then.

Noob here, looking into getting some wildpeaks, but don't know which ones to get. I want to get wheels at are 17inch but have a problem narrowing it down...can someone help?

    I was thinking 265/65R17 or the 265/70R17.

What's the difference between XL and SL?

Switched to some Wildpeaks last week. 265/75-16. Not LT. I have some 1-1/4" SpiderTrax on as it sits. Like them so far on the highway.

FYI the 265/70R17 will rub slightly on the front mud flaps with the TRD Pro / Sema wheels PTR2035110BK. At least on the 2nd Gen's I've seen conflicting info on the 3rd's.

XL is rated at 6 ply's and weighs in at 42#'s for 265/65R17
SL is rated at 4 ply's and weighs in at 46#'s for265/70R17

So if I don't have mudflaps, I should be good to go???

I'm not sure on the 3rd gen. You might not need to trim at all. On the 2nd gen if you don't have mudflaps you're good.

how much lift do you have? and what kind of trimming have you had to do? Thats the size I want to go, and Ive already done a CMC, hammered the pinch weld, and trimmed a bunch of the fender well plastic.

265 70 17 Falkens rub on Sema rims. Test drove a truck today with that set up. Just the mud flaps.

The LT tires are very firm and don't do that well on ice I found. But they are very aggressive looking tires.
