Few people posting in this thread have had dry rot issues like that. These tires are so hit or miss on quality.

If the truck has not been parked indoors, especially if it's parked in direct sunlight, not surprising. Tires on equipment parked outdoors always look like this.
Take them back and see what they say.

After about 2.5K miles of highway and off road use, so far, the Wildpeaks are performing well. Good on wet pavement and some pretty deep sand. Quiet.

Unfortunately, about a month ago, the rear tire was losing air. It had a drywall screw in it. Limped to the local Discount Tire. One rear tire had a couple minor punctures from drywall screws that could be repaired, the other tire had four screws in it. One screw was in the sidewall area, so I needed a new tire. Thankfully I have tire certs, the first time I bought them, so I only had too pay for mounting and balancing. The Discount Tire store was not where I bought the tires, but treated me like it was. One of the service managers has a Tacoma with these tires.
I hope these tires last because they work well and look good on the truck.

Sorry to hear you ran over a bunch of drywall nails, that's never a good thing. We appreciate you taking the time to post your personal experiences with Discount Tire. Glad to hear you had the Certificates to replace the tire.

    Thank you for your support.

When looking at a price match, we compare the competitors out the door price (plus incentives) to our out the door price (plus incentives). If the competitor has a cheaper advertised out the door price, we'll beat it!

Feel free to PM us directly if you've you found a lower out the door price and we'll make sure you're taken care of

Even with 40,000 miles on them, they are still great in the snow. Relied on them all day both on snowy pavement and snowy dirt roads in my heavy LE truck.

The last two days of driving in wet conditions has dropped my confidence in the LT Wildpeaks. They are doing well in snow but on wet pavement I've had the rear end break loose and start to swing around unexpectedly and it's too easy to break them loose from a stop. The P-metric version of the tire offered a lot more wet traction than I'm experiencing now. I see a lot of other pickups with ATs and MTs spinning their tires accidentally as well but I'm driving familiar streets and conditions that I drove with the P-metrics with effortless grip. I currently have maybe 11k miles on them so they are not worn in least.

I’ve have the c load 275/70s. Coming from an E rated tire, the c load rides great!

I was coming on here to say the same thing...I have around 20k miles on mine. I previously posted pictures of my tires with cracks on the sidewall and between the tread. I"ve broken loose several times now from a stop when the road is wet/damp. Luckily I've ordered some new tires (still Falkens, but MTs...hoping I don't have the same issues with them down the road) but it was very disappointing to have this happening so soon and with only 20k miles! They were great the first year, but now I have lost confidence in them and will be happy to get them taken off.

Well damn. I was hoping mine was an isolated case. Are you on LTs as well?

Well double dang. I had no issues with the SL version. Could be a difference in weight over the rear though.

Anyone running 315/75/16's??? I had these tires on my 2gen in LT285/75/16 and loved them. They wore really well and never had a problem.

This thread is so long now that I may have missed anyone running the LT315/75/16 tire size. I've read that quality can be an issue but is that still with the p-rated version or does that include the LT versions also?

I found a killer deal on LT315/75/16 so I may be switching from BFG KM3's in the same size.

I replaced my LT Wildpeaks today with Milestar Patagonia in the same size and load range. The Patagonia are definitely louder than the Wildpeaks even with 8k miles on them. America's Tire (@Discount Tire ) matched the crazy Walmart price of $132/ea for 285/70/17. But yeah, if you want a really smooth and quiet tire then don't get the Patagonia. It's not loud per say but louder than any all-terrain I've ever ran. :)

Just ordered some P265/75R16 from a local shop for $125ea - which seemed good compared to what I saw online and this shop has great prices for mount/balance which is helpful since I need to pay to mount/balance 2 sets so they can remove my TPMS from the current set and install on the new wheels. They will be going on a new set of TRD faux beadlock wheels - can't wait to get 'em on the truck!

(Bummed to hear about some of this recent bad feedback though. At least mine won't be seeing any significant mileage, they'll dry out before they wear out.)

They'll do well. Mine were only slippery because I didn't have enough weight in the bed. The LTs seem to have a harder compound than the SLs and when it gets cold and wet they got a little slick. Weight in the bed fixed the problem. KO2s are known for the same issue. I really liked the Wildpeak for what it is and will continue to recommend them when appropriate.
