Did you go up to 265/75/16 or stick with factory?

Has anyone tried these in a 245/75R17 or 255/70R17 yet? Ideally if I could find pictures on a third gen dclb it may solidify my next tire choice.

Has anyone been able to use these on icy roads yet? I'm hoping the soft compound will hold the road well when it's iced over.
Also curious if they "chip" away anything like the old BFG at's did on gravel?

Road tested em, put about 325mi on Friday.
I noticed a strange vibration at about 64-66mph then it goes away as you accelerate to 70 and doesn't come back if you slow back down to 66-64, strange. o_O

    A few questions if u don't mind...

    1) What is the difference between the 265 /75 R16 116T SL RBL and the LT285 /75 R16 126R E1 RBL ? I know there is a $48.55 difference off the bat and that one is LT rated. I have a DD and I want to do light trail riding / off-roading when time permits. But nothing crazy. And I don't haul much less if any.

    2) Im running on stock 16 rims. I saw on the chart that the max size I can fit on my 16s is LT285 /75 R16 126R E1 RBL . Will these rub??

    3) Will I get a better deal online or go to my nearest Discount Tire store (Valencia, Ca area) for the best possible price? If ordered online and taken to ur store, will I have to pay an additional cost for mounting and such?

    4) Ok last question, If I ordered 4 tires, could I possibly get a deal on the 5th tire? (I need to replace the spare. Still brand new and never been used or unmounted).

Thanks and sorry for so many questions. :playball:

75... It may be irrelevant, but I noticed the revolutions/mile for the Falkens ran ~2% higher than other tires in the same size. The only explanation I could find for this is that tires with higher revs/mile have more "squish" when loaded, leading me to think any differences between 70 & 75 would be less with the Falken than they would be with other tires (I welcome correction if I am wrong). I can tell you this... standing the unmounted Falken 75 against the mounted OEM GY 70 looked made the AT3W look huge in comparison (didn't take a pic, but others have posted), but the unmounted GY beside the mounted Falken is nearly level.

I'm running stock size and they are bigger than the OEM Goodyear stock size. They are not only taller but wider as well.

Yeah, your experience really made me think on whether or not to change profiles. judging from pictures, it's hard to discern the differance (at least in appearance) between your truck with the 70s and another with 75s, wwhen neither truck is lifted.

In my case, going to the 265/75-16 now would allow me to use the same spare if I change to a 265/70-17 in the future.

    1) The 285s will be taller, wider and heavier.
    2) Are you lifted?
    3) IDK
    4) I don't think they will give you a deal but you may be able to use a rebate to do that.
What I am planning to do. Haven't gotten all the rebates in yet.

So update on tread depth. I have these in standard load (p metric) 265/70R17. Website says 14/32" new, mine arrived measuring 13/32" and change. Did a tire rotation today backs measured little more then 12/32" and the fronts just under 13/32". There's around 4,000 miles on them right now. The wear pattern on them makes it look like they might have been under inflated even though they've been around 35-37psi. I have been finding they don't like holding air. All four will loose pressure at the same rate. So I've been setting them to 39psi and checking every few days which has been keeping them wearing even.

Also side note picked up a nail but got lucky and was able to patch it.

They ride pretty decent actually. Little firm but not to bouncy.

I run mine at 31 cold and they get up between 34-36 psi when hot. I also have a wa wa wa wa wa sound that has developed. It's not loud, but they used to be quiet.

BTW, on eBay the "W" is missing from the description so not sure if its a lower end model type.

Going to be putting OME 885s, Dakar leafs, and some type of shocks all the way around, any opinions on my tire size choices? I see that these tires run big for their listed sizes and it seems like I would need to do quite a bit of trimming if I got the 285s?
