Got some wintry mix here in Ohio. Finally got somewhat of a chance to test it out on snow/ice. The roads were majorly slush and ice.The tires performed great! I don't believe I ever lost traction. No slippage when changing lanes and stops came pretty abruptly with no sliding.

Here's a narrow portion of an underpass. I was originally hesitant about going this route. But no trouble with these tires!

The P rated version have a soft sidewall. At 32psi they were all over the place on the highway. Airing them up to 36psi corrected most of that.

    Snow run yesterday with these

Snow performance was acceptable. Self-cleaned the treads fairly well. Didn't feel any major slippage. I did get stuck once when I drove into a deeper drift and these didn't build snow underneath to get out

I ordered some LT265/75/16's today from DTD for my 4Runner. I'll post pics once I get them mounted up. :D

I notice some of the technology these tires are packed with is the ability to remove rocks stuck in the tire. Can anyone tell me how they are about not throwing rocks. I want A/T tires but don't want rock chips.

Mud flaps should help with that. Otherwise get highway tires.

Ya I know I do but I know some tires are better about losing them quickly not holding them till the highway lol.

So far they've worked fairly well at releasing stones before hitting 70mph.

I had Coop ST Maxxes on another truck, due to the larger voids those tires would hold on to stones and release them on the highway.

Yep! My ST Maxxes are stone launching machines.

Measured mine at around 1200 miles and they are all at 12/32. My Cooper ATP's were at 12/32 after 10,000 miles. But, with the Falkens, I was never at the advertised 14/32 when I had them installed, they were realistically at 13/32.
Also, I have no complaints with them in the snow. With whatever snow we had in the last few weeks in Chicago, they handled it just fine. Both 2 wheel and 4 wheel (I also have two 60 lb sand bags in the back).

Anybody running the 285/75/17 yet? I'm thinking about it. Just curious how much hammering and trimming involved.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
I've been running them on some fj rims. With LR UCA I was able to get my alignment set up well. I had done the cab mount prior to getting the tires, nothing major. I beat the pinch weld back and smoothed out l the fender liner with a heat gun. I have a steel plate bumper so no trimming up front. I trimmed the plastic flare and some of the sheet metal behind. I live off a gravel road so I did enough to remount all my rokbloks mudflaps.
No trimming on the rears needed, stock pack or dakars.
Very happy with this size. been great through blizzards, gravel roads, interstate. Solid all around. Even the E load range isnt too harsh running round 34 psi.
I think this size is better suited than a 35 for our trucks. I have the 6 spd and did not regear. still able to cruise the rockys without much struggle. The recent supercharger has made it a real joy.

What offset are your fj rims? That doesn't sound bad for trimming.

thanks for the info. I have been looking at the fj steels to buy and I think they are about the same offset. I'm running these Falkens currently and love them. Just should have gone bigger to start with.

Yeah the rears I would say were in that 9.5-9.75/32 range, the fronts were 9.75/32. All best guess but they were all under 10/32. I ended up taking them off for the winter. Found a used set of 265/70R17 cooper M&S studded on Sport Rims. So I'll put the Falkens back on in the spring in the hopes they'll make it to next winter and figure out what to do then. I might go for Cooper At/3s but in 255/75R17 variety if I get the lift in
