Tread warranty is a tricky bit. Because there's probably very few people that drive alike or 100% match the company's control model. For me if I get 45k+ out of a tire that has a 55k mile warranty I deem it a success just because of the different roads I drive on, towing, hauling, winter driving, etc. But I also get rid of my tires before the wear bars just so I can get $100 for them. So I generally never deal with mileage warranty simply because for me 4/32-6/32 of an inch of tread is deemed worn in my book and I sell them to a guy that just needs them to trade in or last for the summer, I generally will not run a tire with less then 6/32 tread for the winter if I can help it. So if 45k-50k miles gets me to that point I think its great.

For me the 12k+ miles I put on the tires and the tread remaining was so far off that it caused concerns since the tread remaining is where I would start considering to offload and I got no where near my goal of 45k-50k out of a set.
No tire company can so "no premature wear guaranteed" since there are so many variables. Maybe the tread compound guy was a little sleepy that Monday morning and 100 tires are now softer then should be, or just a situation the engineers never thought of. But they put that warranty up to give people confidence that the company will stand by their tire and gives the buyer a sense of relief that they should be able to run this tire for many miles.

Typically mileage warranty is based off a percent of how much you drove to how much they thought it would last, so considering I was only planing for 50% of what I paid, I am beyond ecstatic Falken stepped up and gave me 100% back.
I'm in a pickle now since I need to get everything un-mounted and remounted, and will probably have to take the morning or afternoon off from work to do so, but end of the day its just a minor inconvenience. With the mounting and balancing fees, it sucks but I know its $60 I need to shell out.

I may be misinterpreting your intentions here...but giving the play by play on ditching these tires after getting to roll on them for almost 20k miles for free, having been well taken care of by manufacturer and supplier seems a bit tactless.

They took care of me but still pretty ridiculous for only lasting 17k and 10 months if you ask me...... I did say thank you to @Discount Tire Direct and @WILDPEAK for Refunding my money, I just expected a little more than that out of those tires......

Right...we've seen the posts but there are also others stating plenty of life left at that mileage, which seems that you were included in a likely bad batch...so if they are taking care of the bad batches with great care....why continue this?

Well...for one...taking pictures of and showing off the replacement tires? This is a thread dedicated to the Wildpeaks so showing off these replacements can certainly be interpreted as giving a +1 to a competing brand/tire. After having just gotten your tires warrantied about as good as it can get, that seems to be done in poor taste. But that's just my viewpoint and the last I'll speak of it.

I'll jump in as well since Falken did the same thing for my fast wearing AT3Ws and I switched to Coopers.
By the time I peal these off and swap to my new tires I am going to have about 12,600 miles on them with around 8/32 of total tread or 4/32 to the wear bars. I wanted to run another set of Falken because I felt that it would be the good thing to do since they have been beyond awesome and helpful about this. For me it came down to the size I wanted to go the AT3W was not offered in, the Falken MT was but I didn't really want a MT for daily driving. I could have gone with a 285 wide tire for the AT3W but I was picky and didnt want a wide tire that would cause my MPG to suffer, and I didnt want to try and fit a 285. I thought about sticking with a 265/70 but I did want a larger tire.

If they offered a 255/75R17 I would have been all over that like white on rice. Thats the reason for my switch. And yes I basically ran on a set of tires for free for 12,600 miles, but still had to deal with the fiasco of fast wearing, and a lower then expected (and otherwise noted) winter traction to the point where I shelled out another $500 in winter tires. Call it R&D for everyone, I hope Falken figures out what happened and they expand the size options, and when that does I will probably switch back

You act like I'm sitting here basing @WILDPEAK & @Discount Tire Direct and clearly I'm not based on the post below that i stated last week! I actually loved these @WILDPEAK tires, they were great all around in the rain, snow, and on the dry pavement! Great performing tire, just did not last.....
