Hi all. Have a 2012 DCSB 4x4 OR. 55,000 on original brakes. Need to change rotors so might as well do pads too. What are some suggestions for rotors and pads? Like longevity, don't mind upgrading. What are some options? Thanks!

I just bought the Hawk 5.0 Rotors and Pads, not on yet but there are a lot of rave reviews on this site about them. 174.00 shipped from Auto Anything

Haven't had to do mine yet in 80k, but I've heard oem is the way to go. Getting plenty of miles out of my original pads

Another vote for hawk but with centric slotted rotors.

Are your rotors warped? If not just have them turned and pick up some OEM pads.

I always just use napa pads and rotors or weaver pads and rotors. Whatever is cheaper at the time. Both work 100% fine

Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors with powerstop pads. best combo. 0 brake dust. 0 rust, and i live on long island so im surrounded by saltwater and well as driving on the beach and these dont rust at all. 20k miles later pads and rotors look almost new. i have installed them on gtr's, bmws, mercedes, and all my customers loved it.

Awesome guys. I’ll look into the suggestions. Compare price and the such. My rotors are warped. Don’t want to turn them, rather replace them.

What is normal mileage, one could expect out of factory tacoma brake pads? Just had my front pads replaced and rotors resurfaced but think way to soon for this.

At times use my brakes hard in stop and go traffic and go off-roading. I'm wondering if the last time I had my truck serviced, if they tightened my lugs nuts too tight.

Started noticing that sound when the pads get worn down to 2mm or 3mm but they showed 8mm for both front left and right pads, my last service inspection, which was about a month ago.

I got 130,000 miles out of factory original front brakes......still a bit of meat left on the pads too.

I dont do much stop and go driving.

Does the old hardware from original calipers fit the power stop kit?

I'm thinking I'll go with powerstop kit.

Nope but the retainer in my kit was 1 long spring like wire that did both pins. I reused my retainers. Pleased with mine replaced originals at 130k at 160k now. No rust or dust.
