ok cool. So are we planning on camping out on the beach saturday night? or just going back to the starting point. I'd really like to camp out and drive back sunday morning if we can do that?

I'm down to bring firewood and food to stay out.

 

i hate camping on the beach cuz you can never get that sand off of you and it gets in your bed and tent and all....

 

Ani't that the truth i'll take mud over sand any time lol. For those of you that don't have floor liners GET SOME you'll be glad you did.

 

I dont know if I can make it, but I live on the island and I can make the whole run that week to let you know how the sand is looking.

yeah thats true, but I do it all the time at Surfside, and it never bothers me. I just brush my feet off and have a damp cloth ready to the rest of the sand off. Also, it going to be cold this time instead of 100 degrees, so it'll actually be comfortable to sleep in the truck or tent.

 

yeah the ONLY thing I miss from my old ford ranger was the plastic floorliners. You could just scrub out the mud and armorall the floor and it'd look like it just came from the factory.

 

well hell i like the idea but i have no clue if money will let me or where i will be in texas that week but ill keep you guys posted i like sand alot just not the washing after

 

You should come. After all that talk about an LT kit you can see one in person and make a better decision.

 

yea i really want to see one its just it could be a 2 hour drive or a 7 hour drive or a 5 hour drive its all where im at that weekend so you say its 60 miles of beach south padre is about 30 or so and i have done that one a few times

 

30 miles? I just used Google maps and drew out a route. Its a little over 60 miles from Malaquite visitor center to the Port Mansfield channel. Can you not drive all the way down to the channel or what?

Ive only been 10 miles down and wanted to do the entire beach this time.

 

It is about 60mi. I've never been ALL the way down either, but am excited to do it finally.

 

well south padre is shorter just ask jason he has done it more than me its only 28 miles or so but yea i think the longer side is 60 it would be a blast

 

Not sure I can make this one after all. My band has a show in San Antonio that night and I don't think there's an way I'd make it back in time.

We've actually got a show this week in Austin at Momo's on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd 7:00p

 

And unfortunately, I'm out as well because it's my 2 year anniversary with my gf, she informed me of this after I asked her to go. I forgot about it being on the 20th of december. So yeah, me forgetting about it cost me dinner the other night.

 

So who is actually going besides myself? You guys are dropping like flies.

 

I might still try to make it, because the gig is actually on the 18th. I'm probably going to be super tired and not feel like driving down there Saturday morning though.

 

I'd be more than willing to go if we could move the date to a later time, like in jan of 2010.

I still want to do this though! I just can't because of the date this time.
