This is confusing, but I think we're going to do BVORR this month and PINS in January.

Yeah, but it will be worth it once your truck is done, you could always come to BVORR without the truck & ride along with others

We did not have the hurricanes that we had last year so the trash/garbage, building construction materials, offshore oil trash, etc.. is not as prevalent. We had a case of red tide here a few months ago and there are still some areas with a lot of dead fish, but the beach is not bad right now. As far as the pack of the sand goes-it all depends on the day and the recent storms. The night I took these pics we traveled down on hard pack during the day and back up near the dunes at night. The key to night driving is keeping up the speed/momentum, having good aux.lighting, and keeping an eye out for campers and parked vehicles near the dunes. My Taco was(and pretty much still is) bone stock and I never got stuck, but as the others mentioned take tow straps and maybe some carpet remnants(work well as cheap sand traction devices), a shovel-and some extra fuel-depending upon how far you plan to travel-last gas is at the station on Whitecap. I am off of work Monday and Tuesday-so my vote for trip date would be Monday the 28th... I am a relative newbie to TW, but would love to make the trip with you all-if the work schedule allows.

nice pics, that does look like a blast!

just curious, how hard is it to get all of that sand & salt off the truck before it causes any rust or other damage?

The salts not a problem unless you drive through the water like a fool. And the sand comes off way easier than mud.

I know to stay out of the water for sure lol, I was thinking that there would be salt in the air & sand, maybe I'm just thinking too much.

I am looking forward to this run!!!

Is the 9th still looking ok for people? I will be going for sure on the 9th if I have at least one other person to roll with.

    Puddlejumper,

I bet going back at night was fun. Im kind of hesitant to try this with whatever group of us end up going unless everyone has aux lighting. Its just as easy during the day to plow into something but I think at night its too risky.

I saw those pics last year on TTORA. Ever since then I said that I will go all the way down the coast and back. Thanks for the cool idea.
