Got rear ended by a Ghetto Goblin Friday. Frame is bent in back. Passenger side of the bed hit the cab. Dammit! ('22 OR).

Sorry, had very similar situation with mine. Same area, needed new frame and a whole lot more, just over $30k to get my baby back on the road. Hopefully yours won't be that bad. Good luck, glad everyone are ok.

I feel your pain. Mine was an 06 TRD Off Road. Girl ran the red light and took out my front end. Worst part, she had no freaking insurance. Cost me 10k to fix it back up.

And $1.00 says the other driver has no insurance, and the other driver could care less as well.
I got another $1.00 that says the other driver was buried in their phone texting or tic-toking...

I feel for you. My loan was paid off last week and the title should be arriving in my mail box any day now. I was thinking just yesterday how much it would suck if someone ran into it. A '22 is practically brand new in Tacoma terms, so it's a real shame.

    Excellent..!
I got mine in the mail yesterday - like less than a week after I made the last payment...
Going to the bank today to house it in the safety deposit box.

Absolute bummer. Not as bad, but I paid off my last car around May 2024, 6 months later got into an accident and totaled it. Sucks.

Hoping your claim experience goes smoothly, they can take care of the truck, and you're back rolling ASAP.

They replaced tail gate too in my case, and the bumper itself.

Only thing I can say to you is that make sure to stress on " OEM parts ", it might take longer but better for shop to use OEM.

It will look like new if its a good shop, what matters is that you are okay and not hurt.

He had insurance, (Progressive). I have State Farm, they are handling it.

I cut the sensor wires that were holding the piece of dangling bumper on yesterday. Now I'm getting a "Collision System Warning" message that goes away for a few seconds. I know it's because I cut the wires. Is there any way to make the message go away for good?

I got hit just about a year ago by someone who said his foot slipped off the brake pedal. Okay, looked like a minor bend in the bumper and I wasn't even sure I was going to file a claim.

I called my insurance company and they sent out an appraiser. He appraised it initially at about $1,800.00, which surprised me. Took it to one of the insurance company approved body shops (new to the area and didn't have a body shop "guy"). Insurance company approved repairs and body shop went to work. One supplementary later the truck was repaired for a total coast of $3,300. The bumper with trailer hitch was about $1,200.00 of that alone.

Texas requires both parties to pay their deductible up front and then the at fault insurance company has to pay that back. Which is a different story, but took six months for the other company to admit fault. His company was Progressive which has a reputation for dragging its feet.

My insurance company also only approves OEM parts as they've found that using cheaper parts costs more in the long run. Progressive and Liberty Mutual try to force aftermarket part use, FYI.

Always go through your insurance company.
