Had you used Reddit yesterday you could have taken that $30k and bought GME before close at around $70/share (or much less if you invested before 3pm) and sold at the midpoint today of about $140 or even the low of $110...

Made $40-$70 per share, paid off that Tacoma and then went to the dealer and bought another one.

    learn to invest!

Just saying, I learned the way of the market 5 years ago when I was in high school. It’s a beautiful thing and virtually free money if you’re not a retard

I hear ya man. I was only partially being a smartass. Lol.

I’m not the “risk” taking type. With that said, I am going to start looking into other ways of investing outside of typical 401k plans and the like. But, I’m obviously going to start small. So now I have what was my truck payment to “risk”. But in smaller batches. :)

Thanks! I agree it looks badass. I honestly just used regular ole spray paint on it. I don’t remember the exact kind, but it’s the normal stuff from Lowe’s.

Been on there for a couple months now with no issues. Nothing that I’ve noticed at least and I’m pretty observant.

    Congratulations.

For what it is worth, financing with the dealer for 3 days does them no benefit at all. They get a financing kickback after the loan has been paid for 60 or 90 days. If you pay it off before then, they get nothing. In fact doing so probably helped your negotiation for price because they were planning on that financing kickback and would be more willing to lower the price of the truck.

Honestly, the 60-90 day thing is what I figured too. I worked out the price beforehand (around 12% off MSRP and no one was willing to come close to it in DFW). They said that in order for them to do that deal I would need to use Toyota financing. They even said to just turn around and refinance after a couple days. Idk if the manager just didn’t know what he was talking about or what, but I had a feeling the 60-90 days thing is what it would take for them to get a kickback.

Congratulations!!!!! Sweet truck with zero payment is the best of both worlds!!!

You did it right and not like peeps that I have known that refinanced their house, took out money, and then trotted down to the dealer to "pay cash" for their new ride. :jerkoff:

Congrats! Nice looking truck! It’s a great feeling to own things outright. My 2021 Black Tacoma DCSB TDR OR is also paid off. Bought it last week. Got it for a little over $4k off MSRP. LOVE it! Have always wanted a Tacoma since Michael J. Fox got one on Back to the Future. Great looking truck.

Maybe they get small incentive for doing the finance but the full kickback is 60 - 90 days...doesn't really matter from your perspective though. You got a good deal. Good job.
