Very true, with our family vehicle we paid cash. We still got a deal because we shopped around and got lots of dealers in a bidding war, but it wasn't like a smoken deal and it probably would have been the same if we financed. For us though it wasn't really the discount that pushed us to do this, it was not having another monthly bill to worry about. Too many people have so many monthly bills its insane. Even with low interest rates they still add up and consume income. My wife and I are very much minimalists and approach things differently. For us its not really how much we make, its how little we spend.

I've been saying this for a long time now, but our next big thing to be cleared from is our home. I hope to have it paid off this year actually. Once this is paid for we will officially be 100% debt free. This has got to be an amazing feeling.

I only financed $10k over a 3 year loan. And that was just because the rate was only 1.5%. I paid it off in something like 15 months. It's definitely nice to be debt free. Though soon I'll be taking the large plunge on a house. I too am a saver.
