You can take them at the same time they metabolize in the body differently just dont add Tylonel to the mix and you will be fine. No I am not a pharmasicist but I am sitting next to one and asked them, I work in an ED

So the one is for pain and the other anti-inflamitory?

Vicodin is for the pain, ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory. One keeps you sane, the other takes away some of the swelling and throbbing which if it hasn't hit yet likely will set in before long. It's a common combination of prescription drugs for physical injury where swelling is expected and pain is a given.

I'm not a doctor but stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night!

No, seriously... my last ankle injury came with the same combination of drugs. Don't mix with alcohol!

no, these will counteract with each other and cancel themselves out. take the ib first with NO alcohol, side effects depend on you!

Stay off the booze, and dont add anything else like tylonol - you're liver will thank you.

I was on same combo for operation: wisdom tooth extractus as well.:D

On a side note, my brother did not head the no booze rule, it as funny till he fell off a table pole dancing, I had to stay up the whole night and kick him every 30 minutes or so (until he made a noise), his breathing was dangerously shallow - no bueno.
