OP...just to reiterate what I told you in person when I checked out your truck a few minutes ago:

If you're confident the guy will follow through and take care of things, I think a good washing and light polishing will take care of everything. Leave the truck as-is in case the perp balks at your detailing estimate and you have to go through insurance.

If you're going to do things yourself, wash it immediately so that the foreign paint has less time to interact with your factory paint. As you mentioned (and as I saw), there was some light marring under one of the splatter spots that you peeled off. That may get worse with time, especially in direct sunlight. Time is still your enemy here so the faster you can get an estimate and get paid from the perp the better off you are. As soon as you have what you need (like a check from the perp), wash you truck with warm soapy water and get all that foreign paint off.

In the interim, if you can avoid direct sunlight, I would strongly recommend that.

Also, clay is typically the go-to product for foreign paint removal, but I don't think so in this case. The foreign paint is pretty soft and I don't think clay will do much. It works great for overspray though.

Thanks for taking your time to check out the damage. Hopefully the detailer can get me a quote asap so I can take care of this. I did try and park it in the shade as you suggested. Once again thanks for your time. I'll let you know what happens.

A few mods here and there and counting....
I had a similar incident last year, white paint specks all over the front end, hood, windshield. Used a razor blade for the glass and a claybar for the paint. Took roughly 2 weeks but removed every bit of it off safely without harming the paint. It was a major pain in the ass!

I've used this product before to remove paint from a car without damaging the original paint. I used it a couple of days after it happened so it hadn't set up fully. As always test a small area first.
