Paint Center Caps

Looking to paint my stock wheels center caps, what paint have you used to get a close match?

 

You can paint them but I doubt you will be happy with the result. I have seen people go flat black but I do not care for the look. You can get an aftermarket or knockoff set on ebay or somewhere like 1Aauto I am sure. Probably $60ish for a set. The issue with painting is the plastic actually starts to degrade and crumble and thus paint does not stick very well. If you want to give it a try take one off. Go to any box auto store and match as close as you can with a can of duplicolor. They have some made for plastic and grab a can of adhesion promotor too. When you are done shoot with a few coats of clear and that's about as good as you can get but with the price of paint right now you might be cheaper to grab a new set.

Sand, adhesion promoter, primer, paint.
Clear coat and let sit for a week or two before install.


this, don’t remember exact shade/ but you can tell match easily by cap at the store.
