so the other day i was loading some crap in the bed of the truck, and i accidentaly hit a metal pipe on the tailgate and it nicked the paint down to bare metal, its only about1/8 inch long but its bugging the shit outta me. i tried to cover it up with that OEM paint shit you get from autozone, oreilleys ect. and its not the same.
if the truck is under warranty, will the dealership paint this or am i SOL?

^ Why would they cover it under warranty? You inflected the metal onto your tailgate. That would NOT be covered under warranty in any way. . .

Sorry man. . . I'm just like you and I have a few here and there. My truck is pretty dam clean but I have my few nicks here and there. Its normal man.

You can pay someone to professionally touch them up. . .

^ I don't know how youre going to get the dealership to repaint it to be honest. You gotta come up with a real reason. . .

I swear. . . If you go in there and tell them you hit it with a piece of metal and want it repainted under warranty.

They will laugh @ you as if you drove in with a YARIS. . .

    Do you really want that?
I dont, because I care about your feelings.

Tell them a "METEOR" hit the tailgate and as impressed as you are from the very limited damage it created. No way in the Toyota commercial it showed it would suffer "ANY" damage. . .You felt very mislead and it shocks you to have bought such a misleading piece of shit.

You will now buy a Ford RAPTOR with the 2k worth of Vinyl stickers that will protect your tailgate from any rock chips. . .

    Good Luck. . .

You can Thank me Later. . .:D

I dented my tailgate twice when my truck was only two weeks old. a bungee cord I was strechting behind the truck took off and the hook slammed into the tailgate (twice). After that I don't worry about minor scratches anymore.

Thankfully, I bought mine used and it had a couple scratches already. One of them on the tailgate.

Don't sweat the small stuff, and the big stuff won't getcha.
